Whatever he did or didn't do, hit the headlines in The Sun for this sort of thing and - if you are a Reading player - you write your own obituary. No hack required.

You shouldn't need second chances at this level. He should've known better (especailly with an alleged dubious track record for being a drunken kn0b).

I expect and hope he will be playing for Scunthorpe come January and quite fitting too.

think that totaly depends on his attitude with brian regarding this, and generlly in training- if there have been otherissues- he'll be gone as soon as we can line up some defensive cover. if hes been as good as gold and shown a good attitude, before, and after this incident, he will be given another chance. and rightly so

That's right Melonhead. As Ian said earlier, his reaction on Twitter afterwards, not taking the incident seriously, isn't a good sign that he is showing a good attitude at present. He'll need to change that or I suspect he will be on the way out in future. It's no big deal to Reading, we'll survive either way.

Absolutely. The difference is that we aren't professional sportmen who have a greater duty to look after their health because their physical performance on the pitch or training ground is the key component of their work. We aren't roll models to kids, we aren't figure heads of our companies to such an extent and we aren't going to end up in national newspapers if we get drunk and take a piss in the street.

With the great priveliges of being a footballer comes a greater responsibility. Sadly, often they don't show this.

Avon Royal LOL at the "won't somebody please think of the children" attitude on here

Did anybody die? Did anyone get hurt? Did anything happen that doesn't happen every weekend in every town centre accross the country?

Nope.

I didn't know Spiderman was a footballer. :)

I'm not sure you can say that every footballer gets pissed up during a season Melonhead, but if they do, they are all being silly. I met a pro footballer once - not a big one - he played in League 1 or 2 and he told us that he doesn't drink or smoke at all as he can't afford too. It's small margins at that level.

theyll have a few beers(at least the english ones will)

and for a 4th choice XCB to do so in the middle of a fahookin massive break between games is iffy- but hardly sacking material on its own

I agree with you, depending on what you mean by a few beers. I was never suggesting it was sacking material, just something he needs to cut out.

To be fair, Morrisson has never been close to playing a Premier League match and was probably never expecting that sort of attention. My first reaction when I saw the article was "Why do they care about him? None of the readers know who he is." He was just caught out having a piss after he left the club, something every guy I know has done. I'd hope that stories of him walking about waving it around in public are exaggerated.

And RL, my parents definitely didn't bring me up that way, but when pain is searing through you such is the desperation at 3am, you find an alleyway and go. Sometimes you honesty think the only alternative is a wet yourself.

To put a balanced view on this situation, I think he should be put in stocks and pelted with rotten apples then hung in the tower with his corpse left for magpies to peck him in to oblivion. The police, the great bastions of freedom and democracy in this country, had no option to spend tax payers money arresting this despicable cretin when they could have been spending their valuable time back in the office carrying out more important daily duties, such as covering up evidence, threatening witnesses and framing innocent people.

If Sean Morrison could be more like these officers who uphold law and order in our democracy, I may consider offering him redemption, if not hang him in a cell, throw away the key and force his family to watch him rot.
