How about this one then, I think Thierry Henry meant this. Quite astounding. Second goal at 0:52. His first touch for his first goal is sublime too.

‘greed, really enjoyable match, Everton must feel pretty aggrieved not to have won that.

Lol @ my Everton supporting m8 who I watched it with, who 30 seconds before Anichebe slammed in his goal had st8ed that “he just really isn’t good enough.”

The lino has a corner pole, goal post, netting and a player all in his way and he expected to know if the ball crossed the line ? No chance.

Of course the assistant is less likely to indicate a goal in those incidents, the positioning of his head will afford a view that is more likely to be obscured by player interference.

Assistants really should be leaning the other side of the flag, offering a similar perspective, but a likely clearly line of sight.

This - he's looking the wrong side of the line to see if its a goal

Anyway, whack another official on the line, like in the Euro's BUT have them the other side to which the lino is stood

That's a split second camera shot. His head could be either side on the next one.

If Anichebe was any good he would've buried that header anyway. Don't go blaming the linesman because you've arsed up a chance inside the six yard box.

Still doesn't deal with the fact that you're asking a person to make a split second decision on something that if he blinks at the wrong time he's got no chance of spotting correctly. His brain will just be showing him what he expects to see anyway.

Until we get efficient goaline tech, it's better to have another official pair of eyes on the event though.
