Most interesting quote from that, for me, was this
"Adam does not see it that way. He wants to be back in the squad and fighting for his place and not being on the bench."
It's sometimes hard to read between the lines with McDermotts turn of phrase and cliches, but to me this does at least hint at the fact Federici might've refused to be on the bench on Sunday.

No it's not. As BM says in the article "The grey area was, I spoke to Luke Anthony (first-team physio) who says he had an issue with his knee which needs to be sorted out, rehabilitated," McDermott continued.
He said it was a "tactical decision" on BBC Berks on Sunday, so we always knew it wasn't solely based on an injury.

I wonder if McDermott feels let down by Federici kicking off about this when he was trying to save him a bit of face with the gentle injury cover-up. I think he'd have every right to be.

DOYLERSAROYALER Question is whether BM is ruthless enough ....
A further test for BM is whether he can drop McAnuff if required....dropping Cummings, Church, Alfie and Co isnt the challenge for BM that dropping the bigger characters like Federici/McAnuff..
..cant see him telling Pog hes dropped because he isnt cutting it
Loyalty can only stretch so far ...lets hope BM knows how far that is ...
Alexander Litvinenko Footballer who spent the summer of 2011 unsuccessfully touting himself to Premier League clubs now (indirectly) playing the "loyalty" card.
Irony overload!

Irony overload!
This is what I said ages ago about him showing disrespect to Reading FC by touting his service - but nobody listened. Now it's gone a bit pear shaped for him, you all don't like him and you're now using this ammo against him.

Snowball IMO
1 Absolute Blooper v Stoke
2 Absolute Blooper v Chelsea
3 Half-Blooper v Chelsea for fourth goal. Sanctioned or not he stayed up there too long
5 Half-Blooper or worse for two Peterboro goals. They were poor keeping at the very least.
This is NOT me saying he should have been dropped or that McCarthy is better or anything.
That wasn't the point of my posts. I simply think that McCarthy won't do as badly in the next three, that's all.
McCarthy's first save v Spurs was very good. And BTW, for 30 minutes there was nothing wrong
with his distribution.
IMO the whole team seemed to be way off colour. Maybe there was trouble over Feds, dunno
but I thought McAnuff lacked energy, Guthrie seemed p!ssed off and Gorkss' body-language looked bad.
Harte looked like he knew he was close to his last ever game in the Prem.
Of course we were out-classed, but we shouldn't have been outfought
