Snowball McCarthy's first save v Spurs was very good.

No it wasn't. He pushed it into danger which meant he had to make an unnecessary second save.

McCarthy's first save v Spurs was very good. And BTW, for 30 minutes there was nothing wrong
with his distribution.

didnt he pass straight to one of their players in our box during that period?
or am i misremembering?

He also threw it to one of their players as well.

LOL - Fed wanted the Prem for so long he went as far as touting himself to clubs.

You got there, you fu(ked it up, now you're throwing your toys out the Prem.

Bye Feds!

It wasn't bad. He pushed it clear of the six yard box and there were defenders between the ball and the goal. Only two ways it could have been better, holding it - always hard with a powerful shot down low you have to dive for, or straight sideways towards the edge of the pitch - always hard with a powerful shot low down you have to dive for, because if you don't get quite enough on it in trying to direct it wide, then it could spin up into the goal.

And of course, he was up and ready to save the follow up.

I think Brian made the correct decision with putting McCarthy in for Federici. And hope McCarthy stays in goal on saturday. He made a few nervous errors, but importantly his handiling was good. We do miss Federici`s distribution though when he doesnt play

I have a feeling there's more of this to come, Karacan, Pearce out contract next year players like Church and Kanu, Hunt and Feds probably expected a decent pay increase and I presume as the majority came through the youth team didn't have decent clauses that if we went up they would be rewarded like first team players. Then see the new players that have come in probably on more than all of them, has probably caused all this.

Time will tell, in Brian we trust, but are his hands being tied

What a great oppurtunity for McCarthy. If he keeps his head while adam "prima donna" federici has a shitfit he will be starting prem keeper in few weeks.

I'm really surprised Feds has the nerve to kick off like this, as BM says no one is un-droppable.

This whole situation has got well out of hand....

Judging by what AMc is saying Brian has promised him a decent run in the side.

pea So Feds is at odds with the manager over a selection choice and at odds with the physio over a medical assessment of his injury. Needs to take a step back and think rationally about this IMO

It's true you know...

...but not for the reasons you say.

Feds is going through a bad patch at the moooment and the only one he really is at odds with is the club's hairdresser which is the true story. The stylist has insisted that McCarthy is in need of better hair products than him and he is really nooooot happy so he has refused to play a game.

This is why he was absent and has also been confirmed by the seven old ladies who sit behind me in Y22 from the Whitley Bingo Association who says McCarthy does have nice hair.

Balding Guy V2 knows that the quicker RFC release their Winter Range and the players can then focus on playing football rather then having laminated statues of themselves made for the window of the "Mega Awesome Mighty Store", we will then start winning more glorious games.

Roll on January...

Do You See?

As mentioned, he did it before when he didn't get his place back when he returned from injury and McDermott stuck with McCarthy, who by that point was playing well and should have felt very hard done by when he was benched to keep the peace. Brian caved in, clear and simple, but this time he needs to stand his ground. Managing in the Premiership is a different ball game altogether. If you don't stamp your authority on the dressing room, you will lose them, and it will all fall apart.

For now, Feds deserves to be No.2 and McCarthy has earned the right to start. It's now up to Alex to keep the shirt, and Adam to work hard to get another chance. Failing that, January wont be far away and the arrogant little twat can leave. We have Stuart Taylor, more than suitable if called upon, Alex McCarthy and the impressive Mikkel Andersen all vying for the shirt. It's probably our strongest position, so more fool Adam Federici for getting way above his station.

Have a heart. We've no evidence, other than tweets by his women, that he is getting above his station; certainly we have no evidence that he has rebelled against Brian in any way. It's a momentous thing for a goalie to lose his place in the team--once gone it may never come back. It may be that Feds has been playing down his injury because of the fear of losing his place, but that doesn't mean he is being arrogant. It may mean the opposite--that he knows there is at least one more keeper who can perform to his level in the squad.

I don't agree with you that Brian caved when he let Feds back last time. To believe that, I would have to know that Feds behaved demandingly in some way. Brian brought Feds back after McCarthy let in three against Forest. He got it right, because, until this season, Feds's performances have largely been immaculate ever since.

It's quite possible here that the worst Feds has done is spout off in private to his girlfriend. How many of us would want our tea-table remarks about our bosses broadcast over Twitter?

Seeing how last time we were in the PL we were relegated on goal difference, how, after conceding 5 goals in 3 games (3 of which being complete fcuk ups on his part) can Federici be so selfish to demand that his error-prone ass continue to be played in goal?

I've seen that. In football parlance, it's called having the hump. Managers expect it of dropped players. I have no issue with Feds until there's some evidence that he rebelled. I'm not saying he did not refuse to go on the bench; but until I see evidence, I regard him as innocent till proven guilty.

Agree he's just got the hump, but the "very very short memory" comment was a bit foolish. Surely he knows this stuff can easily go viral.

I'd be surprised if Stephanie is ever welcome again in her free seat at the Mad Stad now she's made the Daily Mail. The Reading way is to keep this stuff behind closed doors.
