Everyone did decent things, but everyone showed a lack of quality. Wouldn't pick out anyone, although I'm worried by Gorkss who looked like a Rolls Royce in the Championship but looks like a Morris Oxford a level above. I would never have expected to use the word 'awkward' of him last year, but this he seems awkward in everything he does.

For me it's McAnuff. He looked anonymous yet again yesterday, and is hardly showing leadership qualities expected of a Premiership captain. He needed to show a bit more urgency and desire to get round players and create something. He's been the biggest disappointment of the season so far for me, mainly because when we're under the cosh (which is going to happen a lot this year) we need someone to stamp his authority.

Obviously it's still early days but our passing in general has been poor and I'm slightly concerned (no more at this stage) that we barely created anything in the last two games!

Lack of service is only half an excuse. Strikers, like any other player, should be fighting to contribute, get involved and create chances of their own.

He's looking like a waste of f/cking time to me and I'm losing confident in our other signings who are becoming more and more anonymous with each game.

Yes, but when the forwards have to keep coming back into midfield to look for the ball because the midfield isn't doing anything significant, then you're bound to be unable to attack effectively.

totally agree.....we might as well have got dave kitson back. i always thought he was our best defender from opposition set pieces too.

But that isn't what is happening. Pog for example is being dispossesed or beaten every time he recieves the ball. He isn't linking up or holding up play, he isn't finding space or winning it in the air. Fine, not a lot of crosses have gone in for him, but a forward shouldn't have to be given it on a plate to make a contribution.

TBF if you're the striker in a 4-5-1 you aren't supposed to track back, you stay up there.

I think we could have had any number of strikers in that position and they would have scored less than him. His header against chelsea was brilliant.
