rhroyal "If Brian McDermott keeps them up it's a loaves and fishes job".

That's plain rude and offensive from a pundit. And even if he's right, it's still more likely than Lawro offering any positive to humanity. He's the sort of man who could make people believe in euthanasia.

People already believe in euthanasia, but i get your point. Everything is amazing or awful for him, there's no middle ground.

He's a smug, odious little man, who appears to have a high awareness of his own physical self loathing.

Even the other two couldn't quite believe he'd just said that.

If we stay up I'm going mail him some stale bread, and a whole load of stinking rancid fish.

edit/ just seen the above. Looks like his postman is hopefully going to be busy.

I wish to start a list of things more miraculous than us staying up this year:

1. Mark Lawrenson being paid to broadcast his opinion on football
2. Mark Lawrenson being paid to broadcast
3. Mark Lawrenson being paid

(please feel free to add any further miracles you think will out do our success this season.......)

Mark Lawrenson who would go on to play for Liverpool was marking him that day; and Friday was getting more & more wound up by the close attention, he finally snapped and kicked Lawro in the face, upon receiving his inevitable red card he stormed off the pitch, broke into Brighton's dressing room and did a shit in Mark Lawrenson's kit bag

I just hope if the Robin Friday story does make the big screen, It's a fcuking blockbuster of epic proportion

I am absolutely loving this swing of opinion towards my viewpoint that Lawrensen is an prat who is biased against and disrespectful of Reading. Love the bread and fish idea!

Glad he's said something like that. Great motivation for the players to pull their fingers out and prove him wrong.

I'm obviously in the minority, but as I see it, Lawro wasn't far wrong. I can't see where our first win is going to come from at the moment - January will be too late for us to improve the squad by any great depth as no-one will want to come to us if we're bottom 3 - ergo it could take a miracle for us to stay up considering the way we are playing and the lack of depth of talent we currently have.

Don't get me wrong, obviously I want to prove him wrong - but McD has a devil of a job here. Had we thought more about adding more quality to the team than paying existing players higher wages, rather than shipping them out, we might be in a better position today. We played MUCH better than we did against Spurs, there's no denying that, however, I, personally, cannot see where goals are going to come from and it's goals which will win us games and keep us up.

What did Norwich have last year that we don't have now?

(I'll give you a clue)

Only 1 more point than we do now? the same total that both Swansea and Fulham had after four games.

Wolves meanwhile had 7 points from 12 and we know how that one panned out....
