Stunned to see the favouritism exhibited by the FA towards Terry in only giving the white supremacist a four game ban whilst the greasy dago wop got eight games because he's Johnny Foreigner.

Inconsistency in football - who'd have thought it?

FA to take over court case of Dale Cregan for killing two Manchester Police Officers. After all, they know better than the Courts of Law.

The FA case is more similar to a Civil case, different burden of proof, different type of trial.

Dale Cregan isn't being sued m8.

+1

Eboue hasn't got a cluey.
The bird wasn't a team mate's wife.
She had never been married to him.
They were no longer living together nor had they been an item for some time.
IIRC they weren't even team mates
So have a go at Terry by all means but throwing that in as well is wrong.
BTW lol@ Eboue for taking the high ground when in the diving stakes (cheating) he was probably worse than anybody at Chelsea.

Silver Fox It was an independent panel though?

Surprised he didn't get 8 games though, as I'm sure Kes will tell us, that's the standard punishment

Just listened to a journalist explain the ban and said it was exactly as the FA's rules state. I think it was 2 game ban for abusive language and 2 game ban for bringing ethnicity into it. Ban was doubled for Suarez as their rule states that happens when you use it multiple times

Good of Terry to say he now accepts Anton did not say it

I wonder how vigorously the FA will now apply the "abusive language" charge when a player has not been booked or sent off by the ref.
Every week there would be hundreds of cases.

Not in a football context, so you'll have to wait until Morrisey comes out

I don't like this. Terry is odious and shit at football. He probably is a racist as well. But he was found not guilty by a court of law and shouldn't have had to face the same charges again.

I wouldn't like that either.

You have got to respect the decision of a court. They decide Terry's guilt and he's innocent.

What if someone makes a racist comment at work. After investigation it is decided that that individual 'leaves' the company. The burden of proof in a criminal court may still be too heavy, but that person has still been 'dealt with' accordingly.

As a self-regulating authority, I am pleased that the FA can find guilt by balance-of-probabilities as opposed to the charge being proved beyond reasonable doubt.

The FA hearing is the same as a Civil case.
As many have explained on here and in the media today, this happens all the time - ask OJ Simpson for starters!
You may get found not guilty of no crime in court, but your employers can afterwards have their own hearing and discipline and/ or sack you.
You wouldn't get sent to prison for a civil verdict, but your name can get tarnished with the offence and you can get fined (in this case heavily).
Terry and his defence team chose to take this to court as they felt with the "if there is any element of reasonable doubt... etc", it was the best way to get him off (get them a good result). The civil laws/ FA hearing are slightly different - they can be more flexible and actually use some common sense (we think he did it, despite being told a fairy story by the accused).
To be entirely accurate, Terry wasn't found not guilty in court - there was insufficient evidence to convict him - a slight difference!
Even the judge said Terry's version of events was highly unlikely, but without evidence otherwise they had to reluctantly let him go.
Ashley Cole was the key witness - and he chose to say what he did.

Another way of looking at it is that if Suarez's case had been tried in a criminal court like Terry's, the likelihood is that he too would have been found not guilty, as (as the FA's written verdict on Suarez said) the case essentially came down to Evra's word against his.
