Schards#2 I feel a bit dirty but I've had a tenner on Brian being next premium league manager to go at 16/1 as I think that's a good price.
We're bottom, may well get nothing from our next three games and have an new owner who nobody has a clue about whether he will be the patient type or the trigger happy type.
Not a bet I want to collect but a value bet IMHO.

Hoop BlahmelonheadHow were we unlucky against Stoke? We got a late equaliser from the spot which was pretty much the only decent effort their keeper had to face.
passed it around nicely, controlled the game, gave them a goal from a very tame shot due to keeper error
Fair enough. I think our lack of quality meant we didn't force a proper save out of their keeper and that, after they'd gone a goal up, they played to defend that lead and contain us.
For the 25 minutes or so Stoke had looked by far the more dangerous side (we were finding our feet I'm sure) and looked like they had a lot more threat even if Federici didn't have a great deal of saves to make. We grew into the game yes, but unlucky not to win? As much as I'd love to, I can't agree with that I'm afraid.

It's a bet that fellow punters would understand but fans generally wouldn't.
Apparently we were still available at 4/1 to finish bottom a week ago which was also good value but ,despite thinking it could well happen,I just couldn't do it.
By the same token I feel that Newcastle at odds against represents good value tomorrow.

fruitsmelonhead id almost rather go down and keep him, than sack him and stay up
That is barmy! I want Reading Fc to be in the Premiership and hopefully later in Europe, I do n´t want to support a team that gets promoted, stays in the Championship for 4-5 years gets promoted again, goes down again. I want us to be superior to Stoke who never really look like going down but unlike them I want us to push on and be a top 6 team.
I have supported this club for 56 years. I never thought I would see us in Division 1 let alone the Premiership, was going to say I am enjoying every minute of being in the Prem again, not with the results so far, and am hopeful that Brian can turn it around.
It is great to be in the Premiership again, and I want us to stay there. I am sorry but if we are bottom at Christmas, Brian must go and we will have to get a new manager, I could n´t care less if it is ´arry , Curbishley, Mourinho, Mitt Romney or Guardiola all I want is for Reading to maintain their position in the Prem.

I think Swansea would be a good bet for the drop. Take away the passing efficiency and their players aren't anything special.

I think Brian would be a terrible bet for next manager to go, because of the loyalty factor. Usually a couple of managers go who don't even deserve it, along the lines of Hughton and Allardyce.

Muskrat Without doubt a good price and well done for sniffing it out, but will he be the first to go? I don't think so. A club with loftier ambitions who are performing way below the expectation level of the fans and owners would be more likely to wield the axe. Mark Hughes or Bodgers for me.
In fact I reckon we'd stick with Brian even if we got relegated, ala Blackburn and if that scenario came to pass I'd say it would be the correct decision.

i want all of those things too.
id rather not sell my soul and sack brian to get them
frankly, at the end of the day, it doesnt matter what league we are in, ill still enjoy wathing reading, if anything i prefer the idea of being in a league we have the odd chance of winning.
i also think there is alot to be said for the west brom model- & use the parachute payments to slowly and sensibly build the club to a level that can sustain premiere league football.
if youve been a supporter for 56 years it seems odd that youd demand top flight anything, or be willing to sacrifice all that is good about the club in order to get it
i think it is you who is barmy sir, and i dont mind saying it......
He's not barmy he is just old like me.
It's o.k. for young (ish) blokes like you and a lot of the others because we could get relegated and take 10-15 years to get back up again.
Fruits,me and the other oldies might not have that long so I fully agree with his desire for us to stay at the top level and if the manager gets sacked so be it.
Loyalty is mega amongst fans but within football it is known that there is very little loyalty around and it does seem as though Brian wasn't far off taking the Wolves job and he has been in football long enough to know the score.
Btw how could anybody not like Brian and if he lost his job he,like Hughton who is similarly likeable and respected, wouldn't be out of work for long.
plus, i said almost

"Dan- heard from a ex royals player that BMD has 3 games to prove himself or he is out and Harry redknapp is being lined up as his replacement. Don't know how true this is but he seemed to be very certain, hope this is not true! Having Harry as manager I would love but BMD done the business last season and hopefully is given more time to show what he can do!"
