Not sure I would - although I'd spent a whole lot more time at Bracknell Town.

You don't choose your football team - family or circumstances choose it for you - and if I didn't support Reading I can't see me consciously deciding "who shall I support now?"

It would have been Liverpool, yet I am not a BR fan, but I would probably still follow them. I have always looked out for them since I was a kid. I have one of the greatest childhood memories of standing in the Kop as an 11 year old....a mind blowing experience at the time! (I was visiting a friend who had moved from Reading to Bootle). This is when "You'll Never Walk Alone" was a passion, not just a song. :D

I also look out for Doncaster, as that is where half of my family was born. Not been a great success, given the ability of some of the future stars that came through them.....but they will get it right one day.

Watford I expect.
That's where my mum and her family were from and he supported them up-to her 20s. Then many years later when I came along and got into football, I made her take me to a Reading game and she's now an out and out royal!

Although, having said that, I do go and watch Maidenhead from time to time (such as tonight) but I wasn't aware of them till I was like 14 long after I was into football so chances are I'd never have supported them.

Having said that I can't fathom the circumstances in which I wouldn't support Reading. Born and raised here. Would surely rely on there not being a processional team in Reading.

Yateley Town. Pre-match warm up is a fag and a jumper.

Other than that it'd probably be Bournemouth for geographical reasons.

Man City because my best mate is a city fan, and always has been. We went to all the old Division 2 games and the friendly's.

Or Albion Rovers, because I was great with them on Champ Man 2 and because their name is like two surnames, which shouldn't be allowed. Frickin' Scottish.

I think I'll go Brentford - they have a pub on each corner of the ground and it's a nice place to watch football.

I can't even think about this; all other clubs are alien to me. When I lived near Northampton for a bit, I became a supporter of the rugby and cricket teams there, but that's only because we didn't have decent teams of those in Reading. I never supported the Cobblers, though I went sometimes. Even so, I suppose, at a pinch, it would be them.

Probably Chelsea, I went to see them quite a bit in the days up to ex Royal Kerry Dixon, David Speedie and Pat Nevin etc...I was also watching Reading at the time but it was a bit like watching Basingstoke Town now, I can remember one game when there was under 3,000 in the ground and me and my school mates were running up and down the Tilehurst End just for a bit of excitement. I remember going to see Chelsea beating Liverpool 2-0 in the '82 FA Cup with my mate's elder brother and witnessing unbelievable pre Hillsborough carnage in and around the shed and finding it really exciting!

I think my last Chelsea game was a defeat to Sunderland in the '85 milk cup semi- final (I was 17) and I then followed Reading independently from the "13 in a row" onwards as did a lot of my friends who also ditched their glamour clubs. A combination of age and a bit of success encouraged us to support our local team, which is something everyone should do.

Just a few changes at Reading since then...

'Greed.

I presume what the OP means is "who would you support if Reading weren't around / had gone bust", in which case, FC Royals of Reading (or whatever the phoenix club would be called)

Born in Caversham but moved to Chippenham and then near Abingdon so it could have been Swindon or Oxford

I would have gone to games with my cousins, so it would be either Leyton Orient or Hull Kingston Rovers.
