Super_horns True and I guess he did it through the right channels rather than some rant in the media or on Sky..

I agree the red card incident was harsh in that Evans only got booked but I didn't think the ref had a complete nightmare as suggested.

It was very much 50/50 in all 3 key incidents..you would have to see a replay to see Valencia dived.

It's accumulation of decisions all season though, not just that one game.

Valencia didn't dive plus you can see why the ref gave a penalty due to the position he's in
and what he see's

Suarez would have had a penalty if you could re-watch in slow motion. In real time the ball
moves the way you'd expect from a decent tackle.

If Swansea carry on their recent form and struggle this year will those who've given Martinez all the credit for Rodgers success there change their tune?

Will Rodgers get some credit for completing the job and taking it on a couple of levels?

Rodgers has got some credit. And it's now a lot longer since Martinez was in charge. Equally, if Rodgers fails miserably with Liverpool will people who think Rodgers is a good manager start saying he's actually shit and got lucky at Swansea because he's only really done particularly well at one club in those circumstances.

Considering he hasn't only done well at one club I'd still give him the benefit of the doubt to be honest, and, as with his time at Reading, I'd look at the circumstances around his failure and departure before claiming be was a poor manager.

As for the credit, he's had some from [quite] a few posters but I'm not really talking about them, I'm putting the question to the likes of AP and others who have said he just finished off Martinez's work and have really given Rodgers no credit whatsoever.

Did well enough to be offered a better job at a club he wanted to manage more.

I'd suggest he got that mainly on previous association with the club, excellence as a coach and hype.

I perceive that Liverpool are starting to come good. They are likely to struggle to score many goals until they get reinforcments, but they seem to be creating more chances and working much better as a team. Impressed with Shelvey - he's come on a long way. And the We Are Liverpool programme is a fascinating insight into a premiership club and player's lives.

Shelvey was very good last night, Jack Robinson was lively and some of Liverpool's passing was excellent again, but the defence was a shambles. Coates will improve but remains weak defensively and Carragher is past it now. Glen Johnson was strangely subdued as well.

'h8rs gonna h8' and all that, but I think it's difficult to criticise a guy with next to no transfer budget (relative to other clubs like Liverpool) getting his team to play attractive passing football, and promoting players through the youth set up.

It never does with Liverpool.

The line in the sand is constantly rubbed out and replaced - hence the title of the thread I guess.

FWIW I do feel sorry for Rodgers and actually think the owners will give him a fair bit of time to put it right.

I was clearly referencing Rodgers. If Dalglish's buys were any good, the likes of Suso and Wisdom wouldn't be starting league games.

ok, so we're agreeing that the Liverpool squad is sh1t and needs major money spent on it?
