This is all non-news really though isn't it. Anton finding it harder to be upbeat this season than last, his dad quite possibly the main backer and Nigel not liking Brendan (although he has nothing to do with the playing side so even if Brendan were still here it wouldn't matter).

Before I start this message, I want to say that this has been passed on to me by someone who has regular meetings with Nigel Howe (once a month). I have no doubt about his integrity and believe that what he has passed on to me is pretty accurate.

Basically in his last meeting, a week or so back they were discussing RFC, position in the prem and funding etc (basically small talk) and then the subject of Anton came up. Nigel said that when Anton first came into RFC and was going through Due Dilligence we were obviously on a great run of form etc and now in the prem we are struggling a hint of relisation has hit Anton regards to the task in hand and the expense of getting ut to where we need to be. Apparently he is back in Russia and keeps saying he'll be back for certain games and then changes his plans to stay in Russia - seems a bit more withdrawn.

I don't think Anton is about to jump ship but being a young man, it seems he may have bitten off more than he can chew and it will take him time to adapt. He also says that Boris is the main funder (which I think we knew) and that Nigel fukking hates Brendan.

This is honest information and just passing on what i've heard.

Speaking to a cousin of Anton last week,he returned to London after the Tottenham game bemused by our goalkeeper situation at the time which is now HISTORY
But speaking frankly with this person he is 100% on board and is looking forward to the rest of the season

thats how i remember it...we were desperately trying to bring someone in to make a playoff run in January. anton bought jason roberts for us we went on that ridiculous run of form i believe we only lost a few in 18 games or so. i dont think anyone, not even anton expected us to do any better than maybe qualify for the playoff spots.

We've only had three home games anyway - can't have missed that many.

As long as McDermott remains at the helm then I am happy, as it shows Anton is not a deluded C***.

But what I can't understand is that Anton wants to turn us into a top 10 club in 5 years. Surely a mad football fans knows that the EPL does not come cheap.

But I believe we are taking the first year cautiously and keeping the wages relatively low, in the event of relegation. Accepting that being a yoyo club for a couple seasons is not that bad. Then once we have established ourselves then invest more heavily. Like West Brom!

QPR by contrast are putting all their eggs in one basket and paying outrageous wages, jamming a team together.

For me I am using the stadium expansion as an indicator for the level of investment this guy has!

What a load of rubbish. The expansion can quite easily be built without Anton's money, and be a debt like almost everything else. It doesn't prove there is money there or not. Also, how can the costly upgrade of the Academy to Cat 1 status, and a new training ground not prove there is financial backing? Some football fans really do have some funny expectations.
