We could even be a bit original and turn the saints go marching in song into a player song and make each verse about a different player (its an easy song to fit into) to keep the song going and end on The Royals:

The POG, Leigertwood, Karacan, Guthrie, McCarthy, federici, Roberts, Simon Church, Kebe, McAnuff etc etc

The more I think about this one the better I think it will be and it would be a little bit unique and also give each player a buzz by hearing their name. So if you hear me singing it, please just sing along.

I do quite like the idea of the whole of the Madejski belting that out actually - I'm sure the drummer could manage the intro... then the whole of the West Stand erupts: "Waaaalk.... in siilence". Pretty strong stuff.

It's pathetic, I guarantee these are the same people who moan that the atmosphere is crap. I used to get that sitting in Y20 but moved to Y26 a few years ago which is better, lots of people are willing to sing along and get involved as they understand that it is all part of the match day experience and really does lift the team.

I'm no good at song starting, but I join in normally. It's a bit soul destroying as Brendy says when three people 6 rows away start a song, you join in and it's just the four of you amongst a sea of apathy, moaning and the occasional clap.

It doesn't help that all the songs are sung at break neck speed and are really short. Nor does sitting down help, it restricts the diaphram and just generally makes you too lethargic to want to shout much. You can't get any momentum going.

Safe standing areas would massively improve atmosphere around the country, particularly if where you stand wasn't reserved.
