I just love how the defender had no idea what he was going to do.

Classic goal. One of Jimmy's best.

I'd love to see his header against Blackpool away in that great victory again. I swear it was from 30 yards out!

fozzy ages and ages and ages ago some of you guys asked if I'd upload the Wolves/Archie/McGhee footage from 1996-97 from my extensive collection. Well, finally.........

Fozzy!! You legend!!!!

I've never seen those goals on video. It was pandemonium after Archie's 97th minute winner. Happy days :)

bobbybottler Got the following on VHS if anyone would like them, free of charge, but I'd like a donation for postage if that's required (ie not RG5 / 6)

On The Up (01/02)
Tenacity, Spirit, FLOLair (00/01)
Year Of The Royals (93/94)
Season's Greetings (94/95 up to Christmas)
Record Breaking Royals (94/95 full season)
Simod Cup Final

I've also got Lock, Stock and also Snatch but I appreciate this might not be the right thread for bringing this up.

I would be very interested in the (00/01) and (01/02) season reviews mate, ive been wanting them for a while but they are difficult to find, let alone actually buy them.

We could make a whole DVD of wins over Wolves. I supose you havent got the league cup win when Adie scored an OG and Parky spanked one in from 25 yards?

I've got 26 years+ of every goal from every game, converted to DVD. It's "just a question of time" as Depeche Mode would say...... I'll try to do that one plus Quinny v Bristol Rovers.
Glad the others generated so many good memories and enjoyment!

For all you lot under 30 they were a band :-)

If you are able to post Michael Gilkes superb run and goal at home to burnley in the 92/3 season that would be truly amazing...

I have a copy of Port Vale 0-4 Reading from 1993 on VHS (home commentators).

Undoubtedly one of the greatest feelings of watching Reading over the years. We went on to become league champions with them in second place.

Two outstanding memories. First, the rather unpleasant Vale fans looking to dish out some treatment outside the ground with steam coming out of their ears while we were buzzing. Second, a friend of mine from Stoke sent me a copy of their local Evening Sentinel with the back page headlines of 'Mighty Quinn bops Vale'.

Classic viewing. Pick of the soundbites from the commentary is 'Vale are now up against a very good Reading side' as the third or fourth went in!

Like the BBC searching for lost episodes of Doctor Who we seem to be adding some right old gems, keep 'em coming.

Anyone know if Reading had any game highlights on Southern TV's version of The Big Match back in the 70's. If so could it be possible that Southern TV - or someone - has the footage hidden away somewhere....?

The Pathe news online archives have an old pre-war game, Arsenal v Reading I think. I will try to find the link - I think it popped up on an Anything Else thread earlier this year (incidentally plenty of old footage of the town of Reading was on there)

That'll be the 1-0 5th Round cup defeat in 1935, Cliff Bastin scored the only goal

Fozzy, you are a ledge. That Quinn goal is exactly how I remembered it. As someone alluded to in another reply, it would be interesting to compare it with the similar goal he scored against Bristol Rovers in '94. Archie's two finishes were both clinical. There was pandemonium on the Tilehurst after the second.

What I wouldn't give to be able to have Jimmy Quinn in his prime in thie current squad - make most other strikers in the league look decidedly second rate. And I've never seen a better header of the ball in a striker anywhere.

Nice to kknow Fozzy has 26 years worth of goals, be great if they could be YouTubed slowly over the next few years.....

IT was me, and it can't be argued that Quinn's Bristol Rovers goal was much, much more difficult to execute. That, allied to the distance out, the thinking time involved, the difficulty of executing the shot, it all points to the Rovers goal being a much better, more difficult and therefore spectacular strike.

sorry no

Stood in the Tilehurst end (left of goal as you stood there looking at the rear of the net)

Jimmy Q's goal scored from an angle looked a whole lot more acute than it appears on the vid

Honestly...just happy w4nk status to see it once again
