Not using my season ticket - options?

by Haag Royal » 02 Oct 2012 19:42

This may seem a dopey question but here we go.

As I am often not in the UK there are occaisions when I do not use my season ticket and already this season for the Spurs game my seat was not used. Apart from giving it to a mate to use (which is probably illegal anyway), does the club allow STH's to resell their not- to- be used tickets? I know for example I cannot make the Man U game - it is sold out and I would rather someone else had the chance to see the game than the seat just remain empty.

What is the club's policy?

Though i am not sure i i would be comfortable with using this. Some clubs do buy back if there is high demand but Reading do not offer such a scheme. We simply haven't had the demand (in some matches)until reaching the Premiership.

Might be worth getting in touch with the club.

I see they have a reserved list for peoople unable to buy tickets for sold out games. Presumably that is for tickets that are returned, such as yours?

Funnily enough I spoke to the ticket office about this very thing today. They said they're putting a re-sale system in place but it's not ready yet. They suggested calling the ticket office about it again in a couple of weeks.

Makes a lot of sense for the club to do this, they could give you back say £15 (although I'm sure they'll want to give you club shop vouchers  ) and then sell the seat for £32.

Thanks everyone - if they are going to bring it in then I reckon it's a no brainer that people like me would use it.

I am going to call.

They were talking of putting this in place years ago. Don't hold your breath.

They did, but it was so cumbersome from an admin point of view that it was discontinued after a while - TO staff were so busy trying to do manage it that they didn't have time to sell tickets.
