Gordons Cumming
Silver Fox Maybe it was just a coincidence that they had June Whitfield do it once then?

..........because she was Bill's partner in Terry & June?

I would have thought GC was old enough to remember Terry Scott! Unless his name was pulled out of the archives!

i may be wrong

but isnt mr fox simply saying, in reply to the person saying the club had no sense of humour, and wouldnt do something like that just for the fans,
that they did it with june whitfield, due to her link with our terry and june chant.

Simon's Church Yep great to see kids from Reading reach the dizzy heights of Oxbridge. Local boy done good.

I suspect he isn't a former student of the John Madejski Academy!

I like the bit where Oddie says of not being a Reading supporter 'I have tweeted nice things about them but they keep bloody losing!'

And just how did Southbank track this clip and mention down?!

Mr Angry I would have thought the least that the club could do is invite him along to a game and maybe do the Golden Gamble at half time????

That might actually get Reading, him and the chant on MOTD! Go for it RFC!

Fordham retweeted someone who had posted it.

This only gets sung by a few hundred at a time generally though doesn't it? Most of the jester bat wearing mongs wouldn't get it. Not that there's anything really to get of course.

When ever it gets wheeled out a home game I've been to it seems you get about 6 people start it and another 15 spread around Y25 / 26 join in, everyone else just looks totally bemused. Definitely one for a boisterous away game to have much chance of getting it going loud enough to make a MoTD highlight.

Absolutely brilliant!

Love the fact that the song was sung at Cambridge, one of our finest educational institutions.

Can't see this anywhere else, but Bill Oddie spoke at The Cambridge Union recently and it seems he is aware of the chant, if you watch from 46 minutes.

The link is a classic. I intend to try and help Bill match his life ambition of hearing our Bill Oddie chant on match of the day this Saturday during Fulham!

The Bearded One tweeted:

At last! Reading have lift off! Now for the title and the Cup. My beard is tingling with excitement. Congrats.

Clearly the process of converting him from the dark side is going well. Time to invite him to make a pitch side appearance, although not at our next home game!
