paultheroyalBoyle the Royal So the only source for this is Jonny Fordham? I think that speaks for itself
Yeah, that he has his ear to the ground and knows what's what!
Are you fucking serious?

sandman McDermott has done so much for us in the last few years yet we've got people here siding with a player who has been here five minutes and done Jack in the process. You only have to look at what happened at Guthrie's wedding to know he's a bad egg.

Handsome Man McAnuff should probably start in central midfield anyway. He is our best player at the moment and should get the ball more often.

winchester_royal Sorry, but McDermott isn't the second coming. We be able to come to our own conclusions on individual scenarios based on circumstances not blind loyalty.
McDermott I suspect made promises to Guthrie when convincing him to sign that he is now going back on. That's fair enough, he's the manager, but if he's going to do that then he needs to make sure he manages him correctly.

No, no, no, no, no!!
Every time he's moved into the middle we completely lose him. He was equally as awful in the second half when he came into the centre for McClearyto come on. We will not get by by putting players out of position at this level.

cmonurz The 'Reading way' won't matter if some of our best players like Federici and Guthrie are poorly managed (and I support Federici being dropped).
Beginning to feel this 'our way or no way' approach is proving a little damaging, especially in respect of some of our new signings like Guthrie ('too good' at football for our team) and Pogrebnyak (trying to feed off our 'direct' style when he wants it into feet).
On a thread in GF, there are pages of criticism of a certain Brendan Rodgers for trying to force a system on personnel at Liverpool that perhaps doesn't suit his squad. Far be it for me to criticise God McDermott for signing quality players and being ill-prepared to play to their strengths.

Guthrie has done nothing so far to be able to demand he's in the first team. I'm sure he thinks he should be, tough shit. I'll stick with Brian's opinion. As for the Rodgers/Liverpool stuff - pathetic.

What's pathetic exactly? Sorry if that comparison makes you uncomfortable.

sandman Thank you for proving my point. Make one lighthearted comment and a Liverpool fan on the internet gets oversensitive and compares you with some idiot who blames innocent people for Hillsborough. Oh and as I have family members who are Liverpool fans I actually don't mind them as a club it's just internet types like you who cry everytime anyone says something even slightly critical of the club and it's fans.

cmonurz Oh dear, too many sherries, leon?
My initial point was that I'm concerned that we're seeing some 'man management' issues this season and that I keep reading about a 'Reading way'. The comparison I drew to Rodgers was simply because he gets a lot of stick on here being a previous (and failed) Reading manager - much of that stick is for trying to push his way of doing things on first Reading, and now Liverpool, when the personnel don't necessarily suit. I do hope that's not become the case at Reading under McDermott.
sandman, you make Kes look intelligent.
