If (god forbid) Brian did get the boot, it would be 'Arrys style to have AZ's ear, and promise European football / Silverware in exchange for X million quid - then leave us with an unsustainable wage bill before the project was ever completed. Hopefully AZ isn't too excitable around 'football people'.

Luckily, the Saints fans seem to think he'll end up back there anyway...

Hoop Blah Surely, if McDermott does go in the next few months, Roberts will at least get an interview?

Yes, with R5L. The guy talks well but I wouldn't back him to be a successful manager. Also, would he be prepared to give up his media commitments.

A good player but not the Saint that some make him out to be IMO.

Lacoste If the worst came to the worst, who would you want to take over?

Some options are listed however other suggestions are welcome

Curbs
Poyet
Hoddle
Dolan
Gibbs
Malky
Redknapp
ole gunnar solskjaer
Powell
Pearson
Sven
Fabio

Personally, if he does leave I would like someone with experience at this level, or at least has proven themselves in the league below/abroad. Someone who has a good record in the market and plays a progressive, passing style of football.

Lets hope it doesn't come to this

well Paul Jewel just got sacked by Ipswich and is looking for a new job..

Di Canio talks a good game and certainly likes his teams to play the passing way and as shown with the way he dropped his captain Caddis in pre season he certainly doesn't take kindly to players that question him in the wrong way.

I know a battering by Arsenal tomorrow night wont be great for MCD but anyone think it would effect his employment in any way?

Doubt it as we are expected to lose

Anything else would be a bonus and would pretty much cement BMD in his job for a little while longer at least

First and foremost, the guy is a legend.
To all the annoying doubters who keep questioning his decisions..... Feck off.
He's turned this club around from relegation threatened championship club to a premier league club in just a few seasons, without spending any significant funds and losing several key men (namely Long and Sig).
We've been missing several of our key men this year who were fundamental to us going up last year; Roberts, Kebe, Karacan, Feds. To have lost to spurs, liverpool, WBA and chelsea isn't that bad at all.
I firmly believe he's the right man for the job.
If a player throws his toys out of the pram and threatens the mood within the club, then McD's right in dropping him, he's the manager after all.

All those moaning, feck off and support chelsea you bunch of unrealistic morons

nor does fergie and it's never done him any harm - Di Canio is certainly prooving himself to be a good manager but he only has just over a seasons managerial experience under his belt and when you're going to be fighting a relegation battle it would be a huge risk to choose a manager with very little experience to replace Mcdermott and TBH I'm not sure Di Canio would want to come to Reading, yes he'd love to manage a premiership club but as he has said himself the club he wants to manage is West Ham.

Well said, it makes you wonder what people expect. Looking at my own expectations for each match we're only roughly 1 point off where i'd thought we'd be. And if we'd got the win we deserved against Newcastle we'd be level on points with 17th with some winnable games coming up in November.

Les Reed or Terry Connor for me. Or maybe both as joint managers. Alternatively we could stick with the man that got us here and has the most realistic chance of keeping us here.
