PistolPete
howser This will give you a smile :-

--------------------------------------Feds------------------------------------

-----------------Pearce-----------Mariappa----------Gorks----------------

McLeary-------------Tabb--------Guthrie-----------Ledge--------Mcanuff

----------------------Roberts------------------Hunt-------------------------

Why not we have tried just about every other formation, play with the sweeper, both McLeary and Mcanuf can do the full back cover, and it allows Guthrie to dictate the play with two defensive midfield ball winners doing the donkey work.

That actually solves a lot of problems! Doesn't work for Kebe which is a big shame though.

Actually, the statistics here show that it would work better for Kebe than any of our other wingers:

Unfortunately, Kebe was barely seen on the ball

Kebe, in his four games, has scored a tap in. And that’s about it.

lies!

and lol at tap in

yes he hasnt been going past his fullback
but he is keeping possession at least(our main problem imo),
and i can only assume hes been told to play like that,
especially since attempting a dribble a few games ago, losing out, and having the ball back in our area for a goal within seconds.

id still go with mcleary and robson kanu tonight though see how they go
but ive not seen kanu have a good game when hes started, and mclearys crossing has been less than stellar, though he does do it more often than jimmy

Interesting if true. Would have liked to have seen Pearce and HRK get some game time. Hope to see Obita off the dench.

Federici

That better not be his route back into the side at the expense of McCarthy.

Would have Pearce in for Gorkss, but happy to see Gunter and Morro.

No Guthrie confirms the fall-out. He'd have started otherwise.

Sounds possible. If true probably a few more first teamers than I would have expected. Looking forward to seeing how well Morrison does. He has looked good every time I have seen him play but this will be a stern test. Surprised that Pearce has not got a game - wonder if it is because he won't sign a new contract. Rather worrying that if Guthrie has been excluded that Legs, Tabb and Gunnar are our only fit CM's.

Can only assume Pearce is unfit if that's the team. He's been our best defender this season (well, between him and Shorey) and he's not even getting a game in the league cup ffs.

Agreed on the points made. If this is Federici's route back into the team then McCarthy may as well just leave Reading now. Fcuk knows what Pearce has done to deserve dropping, I almost hope he's got a minor niggle and this isn't more poor man management from BMc. Is Gorkss undroppable?

Uninspiring midfield, which as says, confirms the fall out.

Contract situation in terms of Pearce, 90% convinced that this is what this is boiling down to now. Brian won't play Pearce until he signs, just as Church isn't being allowed out on loan until he does either.

I really hope that's not the case. I've posted about my concerns re McD's man management this week, this would only add to them.

There is absolutely no other logical reason and he's not injured.

Perfect negotiating stance from the club sadly, not giving him games to impress other clubs and also making him more keen to sign so he can get back in contention. Of course you'd have to ask the man himself or Brian if that's 100% what's going on but given events of this week I'm sure you'd get a denial from Brian or some malarky about wanting to reward Morrison  More to the point Pearce isn't going to come out and moan/complain like certain other members of this squad.

Am I alone in rooting for Arsenal? We don't need distractions, we need to focus on the league. Arsenal are a great team to cheer for, such smooth silky passing, but I don't want them to destroy us.. maybe a 4-3 loss with a disallowed penalty to us that really should have been given.
