Southampton likely to be a trippers' day out.

So would Man City.

in many ways, yes, but at least the distance and the proximity to Xmas will deter some.

Yeh - if you can't sell out for QPR with only the upper tier for away fans, you should welcome along trippers to make up the numbers.

Southampton last year certainly wasn't a day trippers day out.

Class away day, best one in years.

There was a rumour that this game was attracting high attention from HAMPSHIRES FINEST so that fans were to be marched (bottled?) to the station, whether or not they wanted to go there.

has this possibility gone away?

Annoyingly this is the talk in Southampton. What an over reaction.

The term you're looking for is a "bubble" match.

Discussed in full here - http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=114997&hilit=bubble - and I'd be utterly amazed if this would happen here.

An utterly ludicrous suggestion - someone's scare-mongering.

Not me. I wasn't refering to that as I was talking about rumours of increased police control from Southampton train station to the away end. More pre-drinking in Reading I suppose. It's obviously not going to be a bubble match...

If you're that worried (which i'm not) get off the train at St Denys.

And be sure to have a pint in the Dolphin if you do that.

Back in my unis days we once looked at a house on Osbourne Road South. It was a shithole.

Hampshire Police have been "marching" away fans back to the station after the game for years and threatening Section 27s if you don't comply with their pace of walk/direction of walk. So I'm not surprised and nor am I put off.
