Im led to believe that money WAS available at the start of the season.
So im assuming Hammond and McD sat down and accessed what we had and what we needed , so Brian thought it would be a good
idea to give our Championship players a break and see if they could make it in the Premiership ...Bad move ,loyalty to the dross we got promoted with.
can clearly not cut it.
So at the end of the day our owner must be totally pissed of with the advice he got from McD and Hammond that spending money is not the answear

Will post more later, but some initial thoughts...

I hope this puts to bed the myth that Tabb and Leigertwood are a viable PL midfield. Trotting around the pitch at half pace like a conjoined twins offering no option to the centre-backs for a pass, and nothing creative going forward at all. In fact just nothing going forward. For. Fcuk. Sakes. Get Guthrie back in this team. Is he Xavi? No. Is he our best option? Absolutely.

Positive for me was a decent game for our defence, but then it was only against Grant Holt. Nicky Shorey looks very comfortable at this level.

windermere_royal What more worrying for me is the fact McD never seems to see anything bad in this team, well if he does he never shows it.

'greed. He should go on the radio and call all the players shit, that'll get 'em going.

Royal Lady If those players can't see themselves that they're struggling and realise that there are better players out there who would walk into this team, that's their problem, not ours - we want the best players we can get, managed in the best way we can. Anything else is disrespectful to the fans who pay a lot of money to watch this current shower of shite.

If you're that fussed don't spend the money on it?

FWIW, we were shit, Norwich were shit, the ref was shit, the fans were shit. But still don't see why people feel the need to boo.

Before it gets lost in the mire, how poor is Gunter? Looked terrible in the second half, if Cummings isn't playing next week, it would confirm that McDermott has lost the plot.

Could have had Zaha, could have had a decent striker. NOPE.

We have Noel Hunt.

BM did not have a go at the fans or the chairman.

He gave a very sound, calm and sensible interview, not sounding in the least bit rattled as some halfwit laughably described it earlier.

It doubtless suits some idiots' agendas to suggest he gave the fans and AZ some stick. It is not true (of the BBCRB) interview.

Royal Rother Perfectly acceptable performance from a very workmanlike team that is slowly finding its way in the PL and gradually becoming more difficult to beat.

Support? Don't make me laugh.

Look, it is what it is. This is your team, your players and they are doing the best they can - your condemnation of their, and the manager's efforts are utterly shameful.

As is said most weeks, if you cannot keep supporting and appreciating what they do, win, lose or draw, when the effort is there as it certainly was today, then you really need to find another team to follow.

And the stomach churning, vomit inducing 'I''m a better supporter than you' pitch of week goes to Royal Rother.

Maybe if you actually attended games you might haver a little more credibility.

lol at having a go at fans for voicing critisism. I don't think anyone is slamming the team for a lack of effort but they are having a go for a lack of quality and at a management team (Brian, Hammond, Anton & SJM) for making the same stupid mistakes that got us relegated in 07/08.

'The players are giving 100%' is an excuse I just hate because quite frankly any of us would be giving 100% out there and if you're being paid thousands of pounds a week then you bloody well should be giving it 100% as a minimum.

It's up to the club to put out a team where 100% effort = results and for whatever reason they haven't done that this season. Brian doesn't know his best team, he seemingly hasn't bought well and the 'management' behind the scenes has been fairly shambolic this season. There's been a falling out with a keeper you've just given a 3-year 35k a week contract too, a falling out with the one central midfielder with Premier League quality and now the best young centre back we've had at the club in a long time is being kept out of the team because he won't sign up for the pitiful terms he's only just been offered when his contract only has 7 months to run.

Christ if you can't come on here and rationally question some of the decisions being made at the club then what's the point? I was stood there singing Brian McDermott's barmy army for most of the second half, I clapped at the end and I'll turn up every week regardless of the result. But for god's sake p1ss off RR if you're going to slate fans constructively criticising a team that they've paid good money to watch.

Some very successful managers have been pretty forthright about there players in the past. Alternatively he can go on the radio and take the criticism away from them by admitting to his own shortcomings (some successful managers have done that). However, one sure recipe for disaster is to have a go at the fans, particularly when they are still being relatively patient and supportive (contrast to QPR's last week).

Dire game. Very little quality on show. Norwich came to prevent football being played and for the most part succeeded in that. The central midfield issue is a worry and needs addressing, and I worry about Gorkss (though pleasantly surprised by Morrison so far).

Disappointing result, but I don't get the negativity. We'll have better days than this, but it's hardly a nightmare. McD is right - we should be enjoying the Premier League. I am, and I will even if we go down, as long as there's effort and honesty from the players. And if we go down, I'll enjoy the Championship too. get over yourselves.

I'm sure he criticises the players (constructively) behind closed doors. He just chooses not to do it on the radio so he can placate a bunch of irrational internet mongs.

I have supported this team through much more thin than thick and regardless of effort, right now what we are all witnessing is alarmingly poor and just not good enough.

I have never booed. I never will. The vast majority of fans (even plastics) won't and don't boo, but we have every god given right to voice our opinion of something that is so obviously, glaringly not right - even to the untrained eye.

In doing so, it doesn't mean we are any more less supportive than a lot of you pacifists. Just a little more genuine and obvious in our beliefs.

I am there to be counted and will be to the end, but I will always voice an opinion in the hope that it may count and we will do what we need to, to improve.

Good post, says what I was about to try and write but in a far more measured way.

And in response to an earlier poster I thought Gunter had a very decent game.

50/50 game that could have gone either way had either side got a bit of luck. The annoyance for me is that we didn't try and push the tempo and dominate a pretty poor Norwich side.

Not a nightmare of a game, but anyone who thinks that it was a sign of progress is deluded IMHO.
