RL, I appreciate you have the interests of the club at heart, but calling the players/ manager a shower of shite, which you did on this thread, is simply offensive and most likely counterproductive.

The fact I've only seen us live once this season does not invalid8 this view, IMO.

I fully accept we are in for a massive struggle to stay up.

It's all starting to feel a bit like the rich folk who have wised up to Robin Hood, and he can no longer go out and steal off them at will.

Having said that, the utter euphoria and sheer delight of avoiding relegation now, would certainly be worth this totally shit start.

What I actually said was :
Royal Lady If those players can't see themselves that they're struggling and realise that there are better players out there who would walk into this team, that's their problem, not ours - we want the best players we can get, managed in the best way we can. Anything else is disrespectful to the fans who pay a lot of money to watch this current shower of shite.

I meant the football being played was a shower of shite but I will concede this may not have been easily understood

Lol, I've just been listening to Canary Call on BBC Radio Norfolk, a phone in programme that seems to go on forever after each Norwich game, endlessly analysing and fussing over minor details of the game with many of the callers presenting themselves as people who have taken leave of their senses some time ago.

Then I read this thread. Guess what? The two things are uncannily similar.

There was one fella on the radio complaining bitterly that Norwich had no plan B. People on this thread complain that we have no plan B, despite actually trying to win the game by bringing on all our substitutes.

Callers almost without exception complained that Norwich should have played two up front because 'Reading were there for the taking.'

C'est la vie and the nature of the beast etc.

What did irk me a bit was that every caller prefaced their remarks by saying 'a team like Reading,' shorthand for 'They're sh*t and we should be beating them.'

Not going to post it all out again - my thoughts are here :"Reading can't have it both ways in Norwich stalemate" :

Royal Lady He deserted RFC for Windsor and Eton years ago and look what happened to W&E!

And this season after the entire squad left, and we had to play a bunch of kids and shipped about 50 goals in 10 games, winning 1 point in the process, I still went to every game and applauded them on and off the pitch.

That's what supporting a club is all about for me.

You guys? Support? You're having a fcuking laugh.

I can empathise with your reasons for wanting to switch to non league, but frankly it is easier to politely applaud amateurs when yoy've paid a tenner for the privilege than it is to be patient with people earning tens of thousands a week to 'entertain' you with dirge percentage football, being charged £30-40 for the pleasure of it. I should know, I do both.

I am afraid that being satisfied with the players trying their hardest just doesn't cut it at this level.

Not to mention the fallout if things go wrong at the two respective levels.

As RR well knows at Windsors level all they have to do is tear up the incorporation paperwork and start again, whereas we're talking about mulit-million pound incomes and the opportunity for our little club to compete with some of the best players and clubs in world football.

To say that supporting a club can't involve the constructive criticism (or emotive slagging off of sub-standard performances for that matter) of that clubs is just ludicrous.

Royal Rother Wimb, if you seriously think the criticism on this thread is constructive then you are as much of a twat as Royal Lady et all.

Your tone towards perfectly reasonable postings and contributors does you no favours, sunshine.

You forget that he's as big a wind up merchant as Kes and TMD at times. All a bit sad really.

TheSiege Does anyone want to tell me that we should'nt have been more professional in the Summer window now? I said that we needed a complete re-think for the defence, an attacking central midfielder, a winger/striker and an out-and-out goalscorer. Work out how much we will lose in finance if we get relegated and then work out how much those players would have cost!

Re-think of the defence: Gunter, Mariappa, Shorey and involving Morrison.
Attacking CM: Guthrie
Winger: McCleary
Out-and-out Goalscorer: Pogrebnyak
Working out finances: I'm sure we have people who've done that, just because they don't tell us every last detail doesn't mean it's not been done.

If by "more professional in the summer" you meant something different...

Elm Park Old Boy Dire game. Very little quality on show. Norwich came to prevent football being played and for the most part succeeded in that. The central midfield issue is a worry and needs addressing, and I worry about Gorkss (though pleasantly surprised by Morrison so far).

Disappointing result, but I don't get the negativity. We'll have better days than this, but it's hardly a nightmare. McD is right - we should be enjoying the Premier League. I am, and I will even if we go down, as long as there's effort and honesty from the players. And if we go down, I'll enjoy the Championship too. get over yourselves.

An excellent post.

Today wasn't pretty but it highlighted how little difference there is between ourselves and the likes of Norwich. We may lack some quality in certain key positions, midfield being the prime example but if we can stay in touch until the January transfer window this season may not be a write off yet.

If McDermott got his team to start playing some decent football instead of resorting to awful hoof and hope, there might be a chance we could enjoy it, even if we aren't winning. Alternatively some wins through hoof and hope might provide a bit of enjoyment. However, at present he is providing us with the worst of both worlds.
