DOYLERSAROYALER "But boss McDermott says he cannot understand why supporters would choose to vent their anger when his players are giving everything they've got...

...if they are giving everything they have got then sadly they aren't good enough ...

but by definition their best is beinggiven, not an ounce more to give,so what are they booing for? what will it achieve.

personally i think a little grumble at the end of a match, on a run of winless games is to be expected, and acceptable.
but tnem so is it acceptable for brian to come out and question it

But were people booing the players or the management? Makes a difference in my mind (it wasn't me!).

The Norwich game was a HUGE backward step in work ethic, performance and overall quality

really?

i think it pretty clear he went back to defensive basics, decided that the clean sheet and a base of defensive solidity was key going forward, and achieved that

much like hes done in seasons before this

identify problem. go back and start with the defence. once sorted shift the balance until goals for>>>goals against.win games.climb league.

it was pretty clear that it was the area that needed the attention.
and they achieved something in that regard.
now tio shift the balance slightly back the other way.

I'll only buy into that theory if we keep a clean sheet against Everton because keeping a clean sheet against the Norwich team last Saturday was not an achievement - an average semi-pro team could have kept a clean sheet against them, the way they performed on the day!

I genuinely thought people booing some of the most bizarre refereeing performances I've seen in forever.

.

either way for me

players doing best with what they have=manager doing best with what he has)opinions of quality of signing/money spent/tactics aside  )
and tbf: 1 loss in 7. scored alot of goals.we are doing something right

ignoring everything we did to stop them playing well of course.

tbf against everton id take a solid defensive performance, only conceding 1 goal, and maybe even scoring 1. considering how well theyre playing this year

another problem with boing. its directionless, so its almost impossibl to tell towards whom it is directed.

Friday's Legacy
Royal91 "The new owner came in saying he has ambitions to hit the top 6/10, and yet we go for cheap option players". Hicksie_Fan

The booing is a result of bullshit from Anton from basically. People pay outrageous prices for tickets/travel ect whilst players get paid outrageous amounts

Why is it a result of "bullshit" from the new owner? McDermott had a lot of money left to spend at the close of the window. More than he spent on Chris Gunter and Adrian Mariappa in fact; but he chose, for whatever reason, not to spend it. As for the cheap shot regarding top six Premier League finishes; that's a 5-year plan. This club needs a lot of work to get us to that stage, both on and off the field, and we are certainly making some headway to achieve this. What Anton cannot do is buy the players he wants. Brian McDermott buys the players, and only Brian knows why he didn't add anyone else to the squad this summer.

Your comment about "outrageous" ticket prices is equally ridiculous. I bought myself and my two children season tickets for under £600. If that's outrageously expensive then you are very out of touch with the cost of ticket prices in the Premier League. Our prices are very very reasonable.

BM was just on SSN saying the budget was spent in the summer, and its important for the fans to know there is not a barrow load of money to spend in January, so much for our big spending new owner.
He also said AZ as been misquoted about bringing 10 players in,

He wasn't even misquoted.

The quote said we have a list of 10 players we are looking at.

It was the interpretation of that quote for sensationalism that turned that into we are buying 10 players.

In which case it makes McDermott's signing and subsequent mishandling of Guthrie's (and to a lesser extent Pog's) playing style even more criminal. P*ssed away significant sums of what limited funds he had on players who don't fit the style of football he is so firmly set on playing.

Relegation just looked a bit more likely but ironically McDermott's sacking now less so, as he can plead lack of funds to allow us to compete effectively at this level (now when and where did we last hear that?!).

Can't everyone just stop fcuking moaning for one minute & just get behind them?!!

It was said COUNTLESS times when TSI came in they would (to quote JM himself) "NOT be throwing money around like a drunken sailor". Yet people claim to be ITK on here saying Brian has had loads of cash. No one actually knows that I'm afraid.

As for the booing - quite frankly its ridiculous & I said as much on Sat as it was pretty loud in Y25.

WHAT THE FCUKING HELL DID EVERYONE EXPECT THIS SEASON?????

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!! GROW A PAIR AND GET A GRIP.

What everyone expected was a Premiership team who could avoid the last three places and entertain and play like their lives depended on it! With the odd exception, all three are currently beyond us!

Oh do shut up. I certainly did not expect us to stay up & play pretty football. I'd wager that most other 'normal' RFC fans didn't either.

Oh leave the seige alone, he really can't help it. He needs industrial strength professional help rather than criticism. It doesn't matter that the criticism and ridicule he suffers on here is merited, it just doesn't seem fair to attack such an intellectual midget. I mean, you wouldn't pick on any other severely mentally challenged person in the same way.

I don't stand for anything, matey. I'm not saying I can give you the help you so clearly need, it will need someone with the skills and training that I just don't have.

Evil only prospers whilst the good stand by and let it spew it's hateful bile uncountered.

Plus we're all quite upset and frustrated at football right now. Far better to unite in ridicule and criticism of TheSiege than RFCs players and management right.
