Hughes is now 1/7 with Adkins 10-1 and Brian 33s

and let's remember that Saints and QPR spent a LOT of money.

Obviously AZ vote of confidence is a hatched plan to get the odds up for us all to put our savings on for a nice liitle windfall in time for Christmas.

What a very nice man

That's the point, Snowball. When Anton took over it was by no means certain that we'd go up. We did, but that doesn't change the long term view that (I believe) he's in it for the long term and if he'd suddenly spent the sort of money QPR and Saints have spent, we would be in serious trouble if we got relegated. Most fans, of course, take the short term view that we should have success now (not a criticism, by the way) which explains the knee-jerk reaction some have expressed on this board.

We are very lucky that we have an extremely good manager who is working, with the group of players he has, very hard to try and ensure we don't go down and is maintaining a good team spirit which will acheive this. If, however, we do go down we will be in a better position than QPR and Saints who will both have a bunch of talented egos but no team. To talk about sacking Brian is madness. Who's going to replace him? 'Arry? Hughes? AVB? Some foreign bloke who doesn't understand what English football's about?

No, stay with Brian and let's enjoy the ride. We've just beaten Everton, for fcuks sake!!

It's just head ruling heart, the odds were, in the circumstances, extremely generous.

You'd be hurting if you'd backed Mark Hughes.

I hope not.

The only thing in his favour is that he likes his teams to play a more attractive brand football.

Good lord no.

As mentioned on the CheLOLsea thread, there was an interview with a WBA player saying they learnt more in one training session with Hodgson than they did during RDM's whole tenure

There was plenty of comment in journo-land that RDM had 'lost the dressing room' at WBA. No effective training, no effective tactics. The Chelsea players wanted the Champions League, motivated themselves.

And WHO exactly do you suggest we get?

Mark Hughes? Steve Keen?

Get a grip. Love the way this thread was pretty much left alone for a week & then we lose & everyone is suicidal again.

We need a 'Same shit, different week' thread. I love Brian but his decisions have been mind-boggling this season and it's only right he gets questioned. It's a result business after all. Live by the sword!

I think we would agree that what we do in the January transfer window will be crucial. The question is, will Anton trust BmD with cash after all his summer signings with the exception of Shorey (known quantity) have prove an absolute shambles.

I wouldn't. It all depends how serious we are about staying up as if we aren't thn he should stay. Other wise I think he should do he right thing and stand down and at least five us a chance.
