Chelsea have never been a big club. They're above average with a lot of money behind them, that's it. Take Roman away and they would have still been struggling to fill 35k seats. It wasn't all that long ago they were struggling to get 10k in the Bridge at the top level. At least the likes of West Ham get 30k plus crowds, and that's based largely on decent passionate support.
I agree. Fourth biggest club in London, they could put that on the next lot of flags on the seats.
