Depressing - yes.

A nail in McDermotts coffin...after 12 games? Sensible.

Actually it is. His activities in the transfer market over the summer were a joke (with the exception of Shorey). You cannot compete in the PL without a decent midfield.

that is probably the most telling stat of all for us. this is a huge problem. it has a lot to do with brian's tactics and subs. i trust brian but he is making it hard to!

He had a plan in place a couple of weeks back how to hold on to a lead, nice to see its working.

Yeah, it was the "don't score first plan" that we implemented against Norwich. We even managed to fuck that up today......

I am not saying Brian has been perfect but, damn it, we are blowing every lead we have and usually in the early portion of the second half. Can't say that is down to Brian. Our back 4 are all over the place covering when invariably one or two of them get caught out of position. We can't seem to string more than 3 passes together at one time to keep possession. It is easy to just blame the manager but he is not the one getting caught out of position or not being able to complete passes...

Totally agree who cannot like Brian but this is a results business , and this club has been too sentimental and niave for a long time , when we have ten or so points at Xmas it'll be too late

Really? Are you saying at the age of 50+ we need Brian to suit back up and affect things himself on the pitch? He, and the staff, can train these guys all they want but when they get on the pitch for a game they are invariably all over the lot and can't seem to pass the ball even though Brian has insisted they pass the ball well (in training). There seems to be no discipline once the whistle blows for real. What can be done about that in training?
