windermere_royal BM on telly, we need to be more ruthless, we have to move on.........no shit Sherlock.

Replace the first "we" with "the owners" and the second "we" with "I" and that's about right.

Libertine I am not saying Brian has been perfect but, damn it, we are blowing every lead we have and usually in the early portion of the second half. Can't say that is down to Brian. Our back 4 are all over the place covering when invariably one or two of them get caught out of position. We can't seem to string more than 3 passes together at one time to keep possession. It is easy to just blame the manager but he is not the one getting caught out of position or not being able to complete passes...

Sorry but isn`t that the managers job to get right?

Really? Are you saying at the age of 50+ we need Brian to suit back up and affect things himself on the pitch? He, and the staff, can train these guys all they want but when they get on the pitch for a game they are invariably all over the lot and can't seem to pass the ball even though Brian has insisted they pass the ball well (in training). There seems to be no discipline once the whistle blows for real. What can be done about that in training?

Er. it's his job to get them performing in training and then replicating that on the pitch on matchday.

Exactly! People point the finger at BM but what's to say he's not told them to keep the ball in the corner if we're in injury time & we can take a point?

He pretty much said as much in his interview on Sky just then. Sometimes the players have to take responsibility!

Sadly, I agree. Nice guy but has spectacularly failed since June.

I tell you what's to say that he hasn't - because he brought on Pog rather than Hunt who is expert at keeping the ball there (he did it for over 5 minutes at Watford last season).

The problem is we're toothless, instead of ruthless, in open play. It seems the vast majority of our goals come off of set pieces and the occasional penalty.

Or maybe, just once, it might be nice to try and switch to a more defensive formation to protect a lead / away draw.

If the opposition bring on a fresh winger / striker then our slow at kick off (let alone after 70+ mins) defence could probably do with a hand.

The problem is, it appears, that they can't replicate what they do in practice on match day. So what to do?

If a manager in any other business can't get his staff to do what he wants them to do, when he wants them to do it, what generally happens to him?

We'd need a midfielder on the bench to do that.

@ Libertine: Work on the confidence, relaxation and enjoyment of playing. Pick a squad with more than two midfielders. Don't play McAnuff on the right. Don't play Gorkss. I'd say don't play Gunter, but Cummings has been no better. Buy new players who can replicate it on the pitch in January.

What game were you watching? McAnuff was nowhere near a 3, and Roberts was better than Alf.

He or she is given a verbal warning for under achievement. If performance doesn't improve over a reasonable period (3 months ) then a written warning is issued. Then performance is reviewed 3 months later. If there's been no improvements, a final written warning is issued. If no improvement after a month, then said manager can be dismissed. HTH.

Sadly for the moronic idiots who are calling for McDermotts head , our target position in the premier league is 17th. So he's not under achieving yet...

Meanwhile, back in the real world, they will be paid off and shipped out pronto. HTH.

Roberts was good today, maybe 6 was a bit harsh, he just didn't have much of an end product. McAnuff had a stinker, he didn't do anything good and didn't support gunter defensively at all

Maybe Warnock had the right idea shipping out Gorkks, he clearly can't cut it at this level.

This is not a harsh comment but a truthful one, he has been below average in nearly all our games this year. I see now why he was off loaded.

This is now becoming a strange saga with Pearce nowhere to be seen and evidently unavailable for selection. The shame is this option is costing us points. I don't doubt Gorkks is trying his best but the bloke just is not good enough for the Prem and is standing out like a sore thumb. For some reason Mariappa as not liked with Morro?

I feel AZ really has to come out in January and back BM, so far our summer signings have been a 4/10 at best. I still can't work out what has happened with Guthrie, that in itself is an embarrassment.

Yet again we had a chance to shut the game out in the last minutes but instead concede a late goal.

We are definatly in a relegation fight.......
