Sacked in the morning

What do you think?...

If we make team changes tonight and get beat and results go against us...will this force Anton to act?

Bearing in mind he got the dreaded owner's backing last week!

IMHO, no. Anton (seems) like a genuinely nice guy, possibly even a little naive and it seems they have a decent relationship.
Wouldn't mind being proven wrong if it encourages Anton to invest a little more........

if the manager goes we will struggle even more, it is quite clear the players and the manager have a good relationship and they are playing for him atm. if we bring in a european manager with the overall quality of the team kiss the season goodbye

 Yeah, fall-outs with Federici, Hunt and Guthrie (that we know of) really do indicate a level of togetherness we haven't seen since the last time we were in the Prem...

:| Impossible to say, but anyone coming in wanting to play football on the floor gets my immediate backing, even if we do go down. At least you'd feel a sense of positive change.

If we go down with Brian, nothing will change. Good players will go, average bargain basement hard-workers will come in, and we will continue to play long-ball, sit deep and soak up the pressure football in the hope of lightening striking twice and somehow being in the promotion mix next season. Brian doesn't know any other way to play, and that is now his undoing!

Relationship between manger and players is too nice, that's half the problem I think? We have nothing to lose by bringing a new manger in... If you want to stay in the Prem?.

Surely if we're in the promotion mix next year, that'll be lightning striking thrice?

If you happy with this shambles that's fine... Championship here we come... Tuesday home game with a 3/4 empty mad stadium against Huddersfield etc... Bring it on!

The gaffers failing, if there is one, is the players he brought in during the summer. These players just haven't added enough quality to the squad.
I would imagine he is as upset as the rest of us about that because many of us were pretty happy with the likes of POG and Guthrie coming in. The one signing that many of us turned our noses up at, Shorey, has proved to be about the best of the lot.

No point changing manager now, Brian probably gets 10% more out of this squad than most other managers could.

Are there no mods on this board?

Surely the plethora of threads with fundamentally EXACTLY the same bloody subject is crying out for someone to dump all of them into a single thread? Then, all of the CM13 playing teenies can go and oxf*rd themselves stupid at the thought of Brian getting sacked, leaving the team board for threads that don't have as their subject matter the imminent sacking of the guy that got the team into the Premier League in the first place!

How is it a shambles exactly. No one has pis*ed on us from a great height, we've lead in umpteen games. We just need a bit of luck, a few more refereeing decisions go our way, and tighten that defence a bit more. But it is NOT A SHAMBLES.

tbf if we lose again after losing at wigan it would be a sensible time to do it, if that was AZs thinking

no pressure game to come against Man u, then two games away at relegation rivals coming up etc.

agreed its far from a shambles though, and some people need to get some perspective
we are doing aboit how i thought we would a CD away from doing ok.

Exactly, remember what happened to derby after they sacked Billy Davies, who'd got them promoted against the odds.....
If we have to go down this year in order for long term stability, then so be it, i'd rather that than another pompey. WBA were a bit yoyo for a few seasons and look at them now.

So the first six months under McDermott prior to selling Sigurdsson was long-ball, sit deep and soak up the pressure stuff? Ok.
