There was a midfield alternative on the bench! Bryn has never let us down! Except last time we were in the Premier League.

Haag Royal Look we are going down. Accept it. So lets not spend massive amounts on a new manager lets do it the Reading way and appoint Eamon Dolan.

Appointing Eamon Dolan is a genuinely interesting option.

Yep, we'd probably completely change our system (once players were available). Unfortunately that would be a bit more "Won't Get Fooled Again" than replacing Rodgers, Dolan wouldn't be revolutionary the way McDermott was.

Anyway, McDermott to stay and prove you lot wrong.

RoyalBlue As far as games are concerned it is the end of November and we have just seen the team lose two 'must win' and extremely winnable games. They were also the type of games that the eternal optimists were assuring us we would win.

Unfortunately despite his great achievements of last season McDermott is clearly out of his depth this season evidenced by his poor transfer dealings, fallouts with players and results during the first third of the season.

Agree

Also BM doesnt seem to have a tactical brain to change things about, Villa were there for the taking and our first sub came on in 80 min and he took off our best player

The brutal truth is he needs to go... The game against everton was lucky the rest have been average perfromance draws or awful performance losses. We have nowhere to go apart from hoof to the wings. I love mcdermott and i hope if hes given time he proves me wrong but cant see it. People sayig that everything will change in janurary realistically who will want to come to a relegation destine club with an unknown prem manager... So gutted about tonight

I quite like the idea of Dolan tbh.

Always come across as very intelligent, and would be an ideal candidate to integrate some the the club's excellent U18 players into the squad.

They can't be any worse than the crock of shite we're watching atm

Without a doubt - boot out f*cking Leigertwood, kick McAnuff up the @rse - give it until Xmas and then discuss the McD situation.

Villa were pants up front but I wouldn't say we looked comfortable. More fortunate if anything. A no time did we look like there was more than a point in it for us either, and his late subs were as always all wrong.

And now we must create more

Create more and stick to long ball? Hmm. Create more but drop our leading goalscorer and creative midfielder. Hmm.

Ozymandias
Big Ern Alan Curbishley would probably the best bet, unless Anton is going to throw serious cash at the team.

Curbishley is a good shout, but Dick Advocaat for me.

Yeah old Dick would be great...........All that Premiership experience

Old Dick could then bring in Johnny (Mercenary) Foreigner, we could play like Queens Park Strangers, at the same time losing our identity! Great!

Where on earth have all these numpties on this forum suddenly come from

Ian Royal
Hoop Blah
Ian Royal In a lower league. which can't be emphasised enough.

What relevance does that have then*?

* I'm aware McDermott masterminded our promotion but comparing his sides competitiveness now with Rodgers has nothing to do with that IMO.

Utterly different expectations. Rodgers expected to consolidate mid-table in Championship before a strong promotion push. McDermott expected to compete to keep us in the PL. Rodgers actually took us into a Championship relegation fight. McDermott has us in the PL relegation fight most of us expected, just with far more ineptitude than most of us expected. McDermott has also proved he can achieve good things here, Rodgers didn't. Plus we're getting closer to winning games than under Rodgers and haven't been nearly as humiliated in as many league matches.

Of course McDermott gets more leeway. It's not the same thing in the slightest.

So nothing to do with the league we were in then? Just the level of expectation?

Can Advocaat take a job unless Hiddink has had it first?

So why the F#ck didn't we win the game? Maybe we got too comfortable. Still another 3 points pissed away and we move on!
