I seem to remember hearing Sir John saying he would only sell up to someone who had deep pockets and who could take us to the next level.
What exactly is going on and what is TSI/Anton going to do to keep us in the premier league?
andrew1957 A bit harsh. The club decided to keep faith with 18 members of last seasons squad of 26 (8 left or finished loans) and added Morrison plus 7 news players making 26 again. Most of us were quite pleased with the summer business at the time.
It looks like they did not do enough now and I suspect we will add - particularly at CM in January and all Brian is doing is sensibly playing things down.
redscot Not so keen to invest? Odd. Anton has bought a club run sensible. Maybe he does not wish to splash his money around on signings that go nowhere. When all that is needed is a player or two like Roberts whom lifts up the other players.
If I was Anton, I would not waste money and anyway end up in Championship. Better to invest wisely in unknown players whom have the potential to become a "Long" player.

SPARTA Madejski kept saying "they" have deep pockets, and father and son do, but we are yet to see if daddy will put money in.
AZ and CS made it clear we were better off than we were under SJM but we would still maintain the same "ethos" and not spend outside out means.
Problem is, the fans expectations were raised, some got carried away, and then disappointment was and is always on the cards.
If you look at the signings we made, they would never have come here had we had SJM's backing only. Pog and Guthrie would have gone elsewhere. The others were the usual punts, so I'm sure they'd have come. But you can't say we haven't spent within the "ethos" and promise AZ gave us - also we do not for a 'fact' if there was more money to spend, but strong rumours were abound at the end of the transfer window to suggest we were after Zaha for around £4m, and it wasn't enough. That would mean Brian and Nicky wouldn't pay more than they felt Zaha was worth, and so we lost out. But if true, there was more to play with, but BM and NH held back.
I can't find any fault in what AZ has done here yet, or what he's promised us. You need to give it a lot more time yet.
We are already seeing improvements at the training ground. Michael Hector commented recently that every time he comes back the place looks completely different. Money needs to be spent all over the club, not just on the playing staff. People just don't have patience, and they also tend to swallow everything their manager tells them...
Handsome Man I thought we were in the Premiership and had been taken to the next level.
