Updated POLL After Southampton Debacle.

Seems people who were supportive of Brian last week are starting to change their tune. Where does the Hobnob Massive stand now

When the fans who went to the game get back, I expect it to go even further ahead.

Keep, but if we don't get a much improved performance and at absolute least a point (shit performance and a point not good enough) against Sunderland then I will be firmly in the goodbye camp. I believe in giving a manager a chance to turn things around, but it's about the right time for a change with no sign of improvements from Brian.

Gives us a little time to look for a replacement and get him in and be clued up to do business in January.

Sack for me, and I was pretty firmly pro-Brian before heading down to Southampton today.

Unless there is someone else out there I can't see the point. Wolves last season knee jerk reaction after a bad result. Had no one lined up to replace him ended up with the coach. Lost every game.

Back from the game. If we want Prem action - two games tops. I don't want this to happen though. Thick and thin, thick and thin.

Not sure what we expected to get at saints, they are a much better team than us. A lucky draw maybe.

Not sure about sacking BM as the next manager will have the same problems.

I think brian deserves the whole season and if we go down, so be it. No one will be hurting more than him tonight and there's no better candidate with prem experience immediately available who springs to mind.

Keep. Today was shite but it's alway darkest just before dawn.

And no, i'm not his dad

I think we should make sure before sacking Brian his replacement is found and ready to take over. Anyone with positive successful premiership managerial experience that has got a list of players he can attract to the club would be a positive. Added extra would be if they play good football but I would not sacrifice the premier for good football, so if the new manager is going to be like big Sam and play long ball but going to keep us in league then fair enough. I have a feeling a foreign manager with top class lesser known players might save us but its going to be a long shot!

I really do believe Anton is not going to take getting told we have to do everything the "Reading way" for much longer, as hes young and ambitious and is going to chuck the Reading rule book out the window and do something we have not seen as reading fans and actually compete in the transfer market.

It depends what the club plan is & I don't think we can guess that. If it is to enjoy a season in the Prem, not spend much money, see what happens & take relegation if it comes, then keep him.

If there is a real will to stay up... I wouldn't be surprised if he walks.

Said this already on the Southampton match thread, but after a few bad results in the first games of the season, I had the hope that things would change. I didn't think any manager could do better with the squad available. Now, he's consistently picking a team that has lost to Wigan, Aston Villa and Southampton (there's no way we're going to get anything out of this game), I'm afraid it's Brian's time to go. Two weeks ago I thought the guy deserved at least a season, but that was with the presumption that we'd make a good fight of it.

After so many limp performances, there needs to be a change. New ideas and a new formation.

The way we play at the moment will drive away any good players from coming to us in January which we desperately need to make a fight out of this season.

I have always been a McDermott fan, but he has to go.

Seems that the players aren't motivated and the substitutions make no sense at all.

How he didnt bring Guthrie in today when we are chasing the game and moved McAnuff into the middle just makes me think he is losing the plot. If jobi is that good in central midfield why doesn't he ever start there. Guthrie must be fuming quite rightly.

I'm not sure what more could have gone wrong from the start of the season. Roberts starts suspended, Federici chucking the ball in the net, Karacan gets injured again, Kebe gets injured again, Guthrie frozen out / injured, Pearce frozen out, Gorkss terrible, McCarthy injured. Brian picking poor teams, being utterly reactive and making baffling subsitutions.
