Free Money!

by The Prisoner » 09 Dec 2012 10:22

Sunderland win trading at a ridiculously long 2.06 on Betfair right now. For the uninitiated that means doubling your money.

The only bright spot in this turd of a season is making some serious money out of our plight...we are usually at least 14-1 to score first and lose.....kerching!!!!

The best Reading related bet was the Arse being out to 940-1 on BF in live play when they were 4-0 down to us........hmmmmn.....

Fill your boots people.

But if it was a normal bet ending after 90 minutes you would still have lost!

All season, if I can get a signal, I've laid Reading every time they take the lead.

It's very profitable. As will be backing Sunderland on Tuesday.

Incidentally, backing Arsenal to win at 0-4 would have been a loser, I laid Reading at h/t at 9/1 (from memory) had a done it before Walcott scored it would have been 25's plus.

There was no real money to be made on the arse game itself unless you backed a draw when 4-0 down as those results are taken at 90 minutes...it was backing arsenal to win the overall comp when it went 4-0 that was the real monster. £10 would win you £9400

4/11 with Betfair are best odds. Not worth it.

And to creative username please just comment on topics you understand. Thanks.

I didn't back that, and didn't bet on that game at all. According to Betfair's twitter feed I think only two people took that on

Point in the OP was that Sunderland are good value on Tuesday given our form, and that turnarounds always pay well, of which we have been on the receiving end, and the cash can blunt the pain!

There are probably loads of Sunderland fans who cant believe how big a price Reading are. They are that bad and the only player who can score for them is injured.

Fair point about the turnaround though, those odds are based on the chances of a team winning/long terms stats and dont really factor in things like us being unable to hold on to lead. Backed Reading HT Man U FT last week. The turnaround came too early for a win, but the 28/1 on offer was way too big a price.

That's a staggeringly stupid comment. If I offer you 10/1 on a fair coin toss coming up heads, and it comes up tails, was the price too long or short?

Half time/full time markets are priced at about 250%. There is no way that 28-1 reflects the 'real' chance of that event happening. Not a comment about the actual outcome. I don't bet on sporting events but would defo NOT be betting on those markets.

You're always taught probability based on 'games of chance' ie. all events are known. This is not the case with football (ball gets deflected by a beach ball and the goal is allowed to stand etc)
