Doesn't matter who was picked. In a perfect world we could win a game.

Webster750 does tend to dream low though by the looks of it.

If he plays 4-4-2 without Guthrie again and we don't win my patience will have reached and end and I'll go from saying he's not doing a good job and if he doesn't improve soon he needs to go, to bye bye time.

McDermott seems to have some massive blindspot when it comes to our midfield. He's changing everything but that and apart from Gorkss that has far and away been our biggest weakness. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't track.

i agree. guthrie HAS to play today. this is the must win of all must wins for us. if we lose we will be 6 points from 18th (wigan) with no game in hand! its even more to safety!

--------------------Federici
Cummings---Pearce---Morrison---Shorey
---------------------Guthrie
------------Tabb--------------Legs
HRK---------------------------------McAnuff
-----------------------ALF

McAnuff and HRK need to play as inside forwards rather than wingers though.

IF Guthrie is not fit then why is he on the bench!!!

Answer this question for me Brian. Do you think JM is better in central midfield than Guthrie? If so why not play JM there all the time!!!!! JM is not good enough period. Leig even less so.

We all bloody know that YET again we will have Tabb and Brian's favourite in the midfield. Later say after 75 mins when 1 or 2 down he will move JM into the centre again. Genious Brian!!

If McDermott goes with L,Wood and Tabb in the middle and moves McAnuff into the middle in the 75th minute. When he has Guthrie left on the bench then that in itself proves the guy is completely incompetent. Its not worked once this season and his favouritisms are pissing me off now.

I just don't understand why against Southampton Tabb was taken off (Probably our best player on the day), McAnuff moved into the middle and Hunt shoved on the wing.

McDermott must view and value his second rate winger who's never played in the PL or in CM more than a player who has PL experience, who could be starting for Newcastle.

To top that off the McDermott has been crying out that he wants to get some PL experience through the door. Too late now buddy!

11 players on field
7 players on bench
total = our 18 fittest players

the rest are injured, or have been rested cos they are having a mare(gorkss)

think its fair enough to hold back on playing someone who has only had 45 mins of reserve football, and picked up another knock in that tbf

could have

brian preferred other options, and ive already criticised him for taking the decision he did.
maybe he just thought that another striker who was fit would be better than a midfielder who probably isnt.
whatever the reason was, it wasnt some gay conspiracy theory bollox about secret mcdermott anti guthrie h8 campaign

Maybe but BM hasnt done him self any favours over the Guthrie thing but there again nor has Guthrie

They both need to sort it out and for the sake of Reading FC give it a frigging go

What I want and what Brian will play are two different things, I don't think he has played one team, I would have done.

Me:
GK: Federici (Obviously McCarthy would be well ahead of him but all it takes is one amazing game and he is back, I am not holding my breath though)
RB: Cummings
CB: Pearce (Morrison injured)
CB: Mariappa
LB: Shorey
CDM:Guthrie
CDM: Legs (He has been shit and Tabb has been far better but Legs will compliment Guthrie’s game far better, all he has to do is tackle and pass the ball to Guthrie, simples)
RM: McCleary
LM: HRK
CAM: McAnuff
ST: Le fondre

This will stop us hoofing the ball up to a ST who has no hope. We keep the ball and most of our game plan is down the wings. When we defend we defend as a team, as an away prem team. *Look what Norwich did to us*. Then when we break, we break at speed (HRK, McAnuff and McCleary) if nothing is on we keep the ball. This was like when we had Gylfi, which we should have aimed to play in the first place.

So many people are putting Guthrie CAM... He is not a attacking midfielder, he is a creative midfielder who likes picking the ball from the backs and pinging a 40yrd pass perfection to the wings also he will keep the ball. If McDermott still insists on playing Guthrie CAM/CF than he is going to be as effective as a chocolate teapot.

McDermott: Same old shit different day.

what the oxf*rd are you thinking man? im relatively new to the sport and even i know that would be a disaster. guthrie is a cm/cam not a defensive midfielder, its obvious watching him try to make tackles. he is more suited for attacking. mcanuff can play in cm but he isnt a cam, hes a winger.
