strap Apropos nothing at all, take quick look at the relative costs of the starting XI's (and the league position at the time the games were played:

Sunderland (18th) £36,350,00 v Reading (19th) £5,600,000 - RFC LOSING
Southampton (18th) £10,000,000 v Reading (19th) £5,250,000 - RFC LOST (Southampton bench actually cost more than their staritng XI)
Reading (18th) £5,250,000 v Manchester United (1st) £145,600,000 - RFC LOST
Aston Villa (17th) £10,600,000 v Reading (18th) £5,250,000 - RFC LOST (Villa bench actually cost more than their staritng XI)
Wigan Ath (16th) £13,800,000 v Reading (17th) £5,650,000 - RFC LOST

Now I'm no rocket scientist, but when the likes of Wigan and Southampton field squads in excess of £20M, it is no wonder that we are where we are.

In fact Wigan's, (yes WIGAN's), squad had 10 players who cost more than £1M each in it.

Cloth cutting gets you only one place Mr Mad, only one place ...

As you know, I'm no fan of The Ego but we don't know who is to blame this time.

It is clear that McDermott was given some funds and largely wasted them on players who didn't suit him. He also said that he had all the players he needed but was that because he was leaned on? If he wasn't given the funding he needed then Anton and Madejski are spineless c*nts for not speaking out in McDermott's defence and admitting that he was deprived of the money he said he needed.

We are doing well at hurting their players though - guess at least after this game they'll have an injury list like ours.

McDermott is the obvious fall-guy, but if everyone seems to accept that this team is nowhere near good enough to stay up, can you really expect results to be better with anyone else in charge?

My main beef with McDermott is his signings. He was chief scout the last time we were in the premier, and our signings and targets were mainly poor, and we've got the same problem now. It's as if we aren't geared up to look at anybody other than signing that would be useful in the championship, although to be fair, they'll get a good chance to prove themselves there next season.

Gunnarsson for legs and Samuel for Shorey.
Play 3-4-3.
Easy win.

SJM spoke out in his defence yesterday about exactly that. Something tells me AZ doesn't have any more dollar than SJM has.
