Interesting to hear that opinion is very divided among the Arsenal fans concerning Wenger. I guess it is a symptom of when things aren't going great, similar to McD seemingly dividing opinion with our lot.

If I were an Arsenal fan, I'd be thinking that the club has maybe sold one star asset too many which has left them with to much work to do in replacing them.

I think the tipping point comes when you're selling players to Man City & Man Utd. It's one thing losing Fabregas & Henry to Barcelona but must but gutting to see top quality players go to teams who are keeping you from winning trophies.

Very much get the feeling Arsenal's directors are just waiting for FFP to come in and hoping they're in a place to benefit the most.

I went to a presentation there a year or so ago, just after Nasri had left and the message coming from the decision-makers there was almost exactly, word-for-word the same as comes out of Reading : "won't be held to ransom" "won't break the wage structure for any player" "will be prudent" "will always buy in a way that gets most value for money" etc etc

Views on tonight's game for ESPN - the football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters giving an exhibition match against a team of sad, no-nothing saps who spend the whole match fruitlessly chasing after the ball : http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/reading/id/316?cc=5739

Isn't it a bit depressing when you think that those Harlem Globetrotters have recently lost to Bradford and Swansea whilst failing to beat a Villa side who, before playing themselves back into form with a win over us, where really struggling. They come to Reading at quite a low ebb and walk to a comfortable victory without any real pressure or fight from our boys.

Really interesting stuff. I don't think there's much that can be said against the idea, the example you showed from Hannover is a perfect illustration of what could be done here.
