Saw Gary Neville on sky sports, he analysed all last nights goals and said how tactically inept we are, I do not mind losing to big teams but this was the same against bottom teams. Brian needs help on and off the field otherwise does not matter who plays we will get beaten. Time for Anton to come out with his thoughts on the future, or is he another Venky in disguise, Sir John influence is waiting I fear.

I think we should be aiming for something more like

-------------------------------Federici-------------------------------
-Gunter-Cummings-Morrison-Peace-Mariappa-Gorkss-Shorey-Harte-
--------------------------------BRYN------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------POG-----------------------------------

It's the Chelsea v Bayern approach. Pog is our Drog.

Booseal McD said on Radio Berks that he switched it to 4-3-3 in the 2nd half tonight

yeah he did, and instantly looked much better, and at least matched arsenal from then on(though theyd clearly taken their foot off)

id go with guthrie in the middle with ledge and tabb
kebe and mcanuff on the wings
and hrk behind the striker

blueroyals I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the fact that our two goals today were the first that we have scored as a result of a through ball down the middle all season. Surprisingly both came within 5 minutes of Brian switching to 4-5-1.

there were also 3 other through balls, 5 in total in the game, the most ive seen all season....by about 5

4 were succesful, two resulted in goals

more of that sort of thing please

Ginger Ninjas This would be my team...

Federici

Gunter (how many goals have come down Cummings's side of the pitch?)

So you want Guthrie, Ledge, Tabb
2 wingers
HRK behind
A Striker.

Presumably a back 3 then?

He never said defo well on BBC berks you could have got that from somewhere else. He said Danny needs to get pitch time and even then he only puts himself for SQUAD selection... as in he will be bench or at home.

It is a joke! The only good thing Legsofwood is doing is making Amateurs who are in their 30s still believing they have a chance in the big time.

"If he can do it..."

tbf- he hasnt played in over a month due to injury, if brian wanted to get him fit so he can play in a 5 man midfield away at the champions, then so be it.

and thats without even thinking about the issues from last week. an apology alone cannot get him straight back into the team imo

Wouldn't mind seeing Harte play as a defensive midfielder.

My choice

-------------------Federici-----------------
Cummings--Mariappa--Morrison--Shorey
--------------------Harte---------------------
-------------------Guthrie------------------
Kebe/McCleary----Tabb--------Hunt/HRK
----------------------Pog -----------------

Harte doesn't need to be particularly quick and the experience, composure and passing ability of him and Guthrie could improve the midfield and provide the balls to Pog. Having Harte's there might also help out M&M in central defence.

TBF We might as well play without a right back. Throw an extra CB in the box and get them into that massive square Neville kept pointing at yesterday.

Cover for the back four, Guthrie will keep the ball and speed on the break with a fox in the box Le Fondre. My team, not saying this team will win or draw but our best 11 by far in terms of quality. We need to start picking our best 11 or we have no hope at all (We already have little left).

Egg: Federici, Cummings, Gorkss, Mariappa, Shorey, McAnuff, Legsofwood, Tabb, HRK, Le Fondre and Hunt. Clueless.

I wouldn't want to rush Karacan back to early. He got 60 mins today according to his twitter feed.

Am I the only one that though Pog was decent yesterday? Hopefully with Guthrie playing we can concentrate on keeping the ball on the ground, thus providing Pog the service he needs.

I would prefer McAnuff in the middle over Ledge at the moment.

If everyone was fit and I could start with pre-season again knowing what I know now?

...................Federici
...Karacan..Morrison.Pearce..Shorey
...............Guthrie..Tabb
Kebe.............McAnuff......Robson-Kanu
.....................Pog

McCarthy, Mariappa, Legs, ALF, Hunt, McCleary, Cummings

With what we've got? Fuk knows.

......................Federici
...Cummings..Mariappa.Pearce..Shorey
..................Guthrie..Tabb
Kebe................McAnuff........Robson-Kanu
........................Pog

Taylor, Gunter, Gorkss, Legs, ALF, Hunt, McCleary

McAnuff only in the centre because I can't think of anyone else. Although I'm not sure there's really any way back for Guthrie, I just can't bear to name Legs with Tabb after yet another shambolic performance from the pair and him in particular. Who plays central mid in the youth? What are Taylor and D'ath up to?

Ian - I would do the same except keep Jobi on the wing & have HRK in the middle.

We go to City, with everyone expecting us to get completely murdered. So in a way, we have no pressure on us at all. With this in mind, I hope Brian uses the game to try a few new things -

Fed

Cummings-Pearce-Gorkss-Shorey

--------Karacan---Harte-----------

--------------Guthrie---------------

Kebe---------------------McAnuff

--------------Pog-------------------

I think Ledge is just in need of a rest. Lets not forget he has been our best player, as well as playing every single game, for almost two years straight. Up until recently, he was again in decent form (Fulham, Arsenal in the cup). Dropping him I think will help him and we will see him back to his best when called upon again.
