Premier League Records to set?

by 68biscuitmen » 18 Dec 2012 16:18

The vultures are circling so will we have a record equaling/breaking Premier League Season:

Fewest clean sheets in a season: 3, Derby County, Birmingham City (both 2007–08), Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City (both 2011–12)
Fewest away wins: 0; Leeds 92-93, Coventry 99-00, Wolves 03-04, Norwich 04-05
Most consecutive losses in a season: 15; Sunderland 02-03
Most goals conceded in a season (42 games): 100, Swindon Town (1993–94)
Most goals conceded in a season (38 games): 89, Derby County (2007–08)
Worst goal difference: -69; Derby 07-08
Fewest goals scored away in a season: 8, joint record: Middlesbrough (1995–96),Southampton (1998–99), Sheffield United (2006–07), Derby County (2007–08)
Most goals conceded at home in a season (42 games): 45, Swindon Town (1993–94)
Most goals conceded at home in a season (38 games): 43, joint record: Derby County (2007–08), Wolverhampton Wanderers (2011–12)
and god forbid lowest number of points: 11; Derby 07-08

never mind we'll do it the Reading way, learn our lessons, take the positives and move on

I think we'll get more than 11 points. All the others are up fro grabs (the 38 games season ones, that is).

really would be sad if we can't even beat 11pts - whether we get 20pts is another matter though.

I think we can set some pretty cool records, like most goals scored by a relegated team.

Lets be the first team in history to stay up having gained 9 points from the first 17 games.

That would be awesome - gives some substance to our adopted club song of "Dream the impossible dream".....

Expecting three clubs to go bankrupt is a little bit desperate.

This make you wonder, just how much more pressure can he take regardless of the fact he has the support of the management, it must be demoralisingif nothing less another loss how can he continue in his postion givern the stats which show us in a deadful light, that said all things change after crimbo as we all know.....

On a positive note.

If we stay up we'll be the first side to do so with just 9 points from 17 games ;)

That one's safe then...

Here's another stat that could be under pressure this Saturday against Man City:
Biggest half-time lead in the Premier League: 5 goals Sheffield Wednesday 5–0 Bolton Wanderers (8 November 1997) Burnley 1–6 Manchester City (0–5 at half-time) (3 April 2010). The way we are defending it could be a new record

moo I think we can set some pretty cool records, like most goals scored by a relegated team.

Blackpool got 55, so not likely. M'boro also got 53 & 54.

Most relegated teams (at least until recent years) struggle to get much above 40, if they even get that far.

Derby got 20. We've already got 21 in 17 games   (which incidently would get us 47 for the season, so not really threatening Blackpool's haul)
