maffff ....and in several cases you can't say they're not trying sufficently.

They're just not good enough.

True, although if I remember correctly the Players Are Not Trying Sufficiently acronym actually came after the idea for pants day. Originally it was just based around the detail that we were pants.

A "Management Is Not Good Enough" protest would be interesting though.

Intriguing concept, but how do you propose we display this?

No way.
We went through some dark times in the late 90's-early 00's. Spending big money (for the division we were in) and losing to wycombe 5-3 etc.

Now is totally different. We're a solid top championship club, with occasional flirtations with the premier league, not bad!
Regarding where we 'belong', if you were asked to list the top 20 english clubs, reading wouldn't be among them, neither would the aforementioned wigan, norwich or stoke. But the failures of sheffield wednesday, leeds, birmingham, forest, derby etc means smaller clubs like us can have a go. We've probably reached our potential over the past 7 years, and sooner or later the failing big clubs will pass us. Hopefully some of the others (?villa) will fail so we can still get on the telly!

2 world wars, 1 world cup Not in the slightest.

Does anyone here actually remember pants day?

Does anyone actually remember the BS we had for months when we finally cracked?

Yes we've had a run of bad games but before that run we beat everton, were thrashing arsenal, and we're top of the league for a few minutes beating Chelsea 2-1 with some solid but unfortunate performances. We're not sh*t.

Let's not dent their already awful morale with an unnecessary show of pointlessness. Pants day was VERY called for. Right now even booing ( which I'm a fan of, after a game) is not called for.

Oh I remember it well, http://www.royals.org/matdoc/181299.html

the problem with such thinking is that it's at the root of the dissastifaction blighting many clubs - the idea that because some clubs over overachieving, we are somehow failing if we aren't doing the same.

Anyone who thinks anything less than being in the premier is failure, is an idiot.

All people have a right to be aggrieved about is the fact that when a club gets to the premier, it should have a proper stab at trying to stay there.

I think we DO BELONG in the PL but we have to earn the right to.stay there. We have the potential
To be of a similar size to wba, stoke, norwich and soton. We DO have to stop acting small. We should be competing in the pl in signings (in the bottom half). We could get 30,000+ in the prem for
sure. However, we cannot exrend in the championship (though Brighton will, another comparable sized club) So what if being in the pl this season was not in the 5 year Plan! We are there! We have been there before! What on earth were we thinking in our pre season planning! You ALWAYS do most of your major buying in the summer! We got it so wrong and we had past lessons to learn from! We clearly hadn't.

We should be looking forward yet we are goung back again. It is so hard to get promoted. We all wanna know WHY we have not tried harrder to do stay up.

If a business is doing better than expected you invest in it and amend your plan accordingly.

Are TSI all talk and no trousers?
