BM - "Let's hope a 'good Championship side' can get the points we need to get to wherever we need to get to." :|

Well that'll rouse the troops!

Spoke at length to one of the team recently and he - like kebe - indicated the team back BM. I asked if he read HNA? and he said that the post were far too harsh and that BM is a great manager. He also said fans need to be more realistic in expectations. Clearly he is not s regular on this board.
I prefer to believe the players opinions over those of posters on here. True support is given in times of need....

Not sure I like this defeatist attitude transpiring at the club. McDermott and Kebe both coming out saying that we are a 'Championship team.' What worries me most is that Kebe says that the players knew back in the summer that the squad wasn't good enough. The manager should be trying to inspire the players into believing that they are good enough for the top flight, but almost feels like we gave up before the season even got going.

Getting the arse kicked out of this team week in and week out will demotivate the best of the bunch. Then how do you inspire the less experienced members of the team who have to play out of their skin to maintain the level of concentration needed. A mistake in this league can be heavily punished and couple that with a lack of communication/trust/ability (for want of better examples) and niggles/grumbles and discourse start to deconstruct all the good work that was put steadily into place.

I think the number of people who post on this board who want the players to fail is tiny. It is also quite likely that even those with some doubts about McDermott do not want him to fail, just show signs of improvement.

The support for the team is pretty much unconditional, for the staff and players more qualified...but there is no doubt Brian and the squad have earnt more than some.

Most of us doubters expected a tough season, we just want Brian to show signs he is moving things forward. Not necessarily a massive upturn in results, just an improvement in the plans and performance.

In summary pretty much all of us would like BM to succeed.

Mancini could be a speculative punt. Now that Real Madrid have drawn Man Utd in the CL it's possible they could go out. Mourinho would probably get the push and City might well make a move.

No shit sherlock. But BM is known to always play the positive card and build confidence in the team. Now he has all but accepted we're fcuked this season to perhaps try and remove the pressure from the turkeys.

creative_username_1 Apart from a lack of research to actually back an argument up with stats

And no understanding of randomness and probability. You're attributing lack of injuries (which hasn't been verified) to work of Niall Clark and Jon Fearn. Even if it is the case that we had less injuries it would still fall with expected probabilities of randomness. BeLLOL curve distribution it would actually be strange for one team to not go through a season with far fewer injuries etc honestly can't be farking bothered

Niall Clark was much lauded at the time, and since. Whilst he was here our injury record was very good and we regarded as one of the fitest teams in the country (and the stats backed that up at the time). Although he'd followed Pardew to West Ham my understanding is that the work he did with the likes of Murty, Sidwell and Harper and obviously Fearn was the grounding those players had to condition themselves properly.

The club didn't suffer many injuries during Clarks time or the few years after he left as the players were so well conditioned. You only have to look at the Sonko and Ingimarsson pairing who played every game of the Championship winning season, or the number of players who were very close to emulating it, to see that we were in tip top condition. I've not done any statistical analysis to prove his impact, I do have a job to do unfortunately, but from watching the sides back then and seeing how fit and resillient we were I can summise that he did a good job.

Clark is now advising Man City, the club who can afford the best, and so he's obviously doing something right.

It's because the hardy souls who were in attendance had been promised an actual football match with fewer launched percentage balls.
