Look on the bright side a 6,7,8 or worse hammering might put a big rocket up a few arses and get something sorted out coz anymore of the "learnt from this game", "we move on" and "looking forward to our next game"

Will just even more confirm what a shambolic bunch of crap we are rapidly becoming

0-1

kebe scores in the first minute, and the team imediately build a wall in the goal from their own bodies piled on top of each other
city cant get the ball past them, no matter how they try

2-0 home win. Man City don't care about us and won't try very hard.

Maguire
I took 20-1 from Betfair last night so we've gone out. Might go even further out when people start betting ahead of the weekend.

I honestly think 9/1 the draw and 23/1 the win are way too long.

I'd say the prices accurately reflect a top team (champions) playing at home vs the bottom side (promoted)

I've been running through various models/monte casino simulations etc to try and get my head round pricing for sports betting

it looks like results over a 30-35 game period when tested against historical data (i.e. since football began in 1992) give the most accurate indicator of the strengths of the two team (i.e %w %l %d GS GA GD). I kept it simple as i don't believe more variables necessarily provides more accurate results.

Arbitrary decision to categorize this into 1-20 levels (about the number of teams in EPL over this period). For example team 1(top) would have around (65%w, 20%d, 15%l)* and team 20(bot) (15%w, 20%d, 65%l)*. To work out rough odds just pull in the data of games played by teams that fall into these categories.

eg Played 100** Team1 - 85 draw -10 Team 20 - 5

Simple matter of working the odds out from there
1.17 - about 6-1 on (100/17-1)
10.0 - 9-1
20.0 - 19-1

Then obvs the real world takes over and the 'should have been 3 down to Everton at half time' mentality starts to place bets and effects the odds

I've got aspergers so am dreadful at communicating these kind of things -apols

*The numbers are just guestimates as i can't rem the figures
** chose 100 \ obvs not the real figure but reasonably accurate percentages
*** Home team advantage averages out at around 50%w 25%d 25%l

One nil Royals......
Guthrie starts in the middle and Pearce starts at the back. We survive offside goals, penalty appeals, Feders making numourous howlers mixed with world class saves. It will be heroic and kick start the season.

The Toure brothers wary of Reading's threat.

That did make me chuckle.

Roberto Mancini: "Playing against a team like Reading at this moment it will be a difficult game. I watched their game against Everton when they won and against United when they lost 4-3. The are very strong - maybe they have conceded a lot of goals but we'll have to play like we did against Newcastle if we want to win this game."

Awww isn't he a nice bloke.

1. If McDermott continues to play the same "shit" then Citeh will walk it very comfortably... 4-0. "We move on" continues to anger fans.

2. Play 4-5-1 with Guthrie, Karacan and HRK just sitting behind Alf frustrating Citeh and losing 2-1 in the closet margins. We kept the ball and harassed Citeh's midfield, many positives to take out the came part from the result. McDermott reveals he should have played this along time ago.

This is how i see it. We lose by a huge margin, probably by at least 5, get thoroughly outplayed and come home feeling sorry for ourselves.

orrrrr...

We put up a massive fight and nick a 1-1 draw having played out of our skins. 4-5-1, pack the midfield and le fondre scores a rebound shot.

heart says the latter, head says something else

As long as I leave there tomorrow knowing City had to earn their win I'll be happy, that's the best I'm hoping for regardless of the score.

7-1 to City

Tevez and Aguero hat-tricks all from crosses from David Silva on the left. Gorkks own goal to top it off. We pull one back and are supposed to be happy that we saw 8 goals in a Reading game.

We move on.

Rumour has it that Mario dropped his case against City on the understanding he could play tomorrow, I guess he figured that the goal bonus he will earn will more than make up for losing two weeks wages.

Man City 4 Reading 1

They will lose interest at 4-0 and Brian will "take the positives" from a much improved second half display (conveniently forgetting that the opposition had given up/felt sorry for us by then)

7-0

To Reading, that is. Tabb, Gunter, Leigertwood and Gorrks with the goals.

well it wont be the cricket score you lot are predicting, besides you so very nearly whooped arsenal and utd. its not these games that matter though is it, i bet he plays a weaker side v city and tries to win the other holiday games with players rested.
i hope city win but after that i wish you the best. can't wait to come down to your place. although i'm sure we got beat last time, a night match if i remember correctly.
