That is not a foul in a million years....Shorey doing his normal defensive duties on the back post...he's looking at the goal when he should be side on...thus allowing him to judge the flight of the cross and also be more aware of Barry steaming in...any movement in the form of a jump or something would probably put Barry off slightly...

The devastating thing is, had we been given the penalty and the goal disallowed we could have had 3 points to build from and kick on from, and maybe, just maybe, stayed up. That has quite possibly just sent us down. Thanks ref you massive oxf*rd.

I knew we missed Karacan in midfield, the energy and movement that Ledge does not have. 4-5-1 with Pog uptop is definatly the way to go. Need a Attacking midfielder in Jan though

Gutted for Brian

Its a clear foul. He's using his hands to climb on Shorey's back. Foul, everyday of the week.

Which is fine, except for A) it was never a pen and B) it wasn't a foul for their goal.

Pretty standard 'poor defending' comment later from Hansen I expect.

On Twitter:-

Pavel Pogrebnyak admits he is afraid of visiting Manchester City and hopes Reading can avoid a humiliating defeat -bit.ly/R9rzoo

What does he know?

Wait we had a disallowed goal? How close was it? Also was it a blatant penalty?

From the still picture it looked as if Shorey had backed in. From this clip it is a certain foul, Barry has his hand on Shorey's head.

What a suprise that you tw@ts think it was a fair goal. We've travelled all the way up here and seen those players give their all, when most of you sat behind your computers with your hands down your trousers said they'd get hammered, only to be robbed by some jumped up little Hitler and his rich mates.
Gutted doesn't even begin to cover it.

Barry actually jumps from a small distance away from Shorey, and is running on to the ball. What's he supposed to do, not challenge for the ball because Shorey happens to be stood there?

If Shorey had challenged for the header, it would have been a regular aerial contest with both players with their arms in the air.
