Unphased Royal Loan fee?

He's free in the summer so I doubt it. Wages are 80k a week at Arsenal, so perhaps we're taking him for the remainder of his contract on 40k a week plus £1m loan fee..? Who knows.

Just hope the compromise isn't Morrison. Though that would be truly terrible business lol

Exciting news but surely goal.com isn't the most accurate source?

Goal has got the worst reputation. Goal were the clowns that thought Krasic was coming our way.

Arshavin would waltz into almost any team in the league. However, Wenger's insistance of playing him on the wing means he's behind Ox-C, Walcott and Podolski. He would surely give us that creativity we so desire in midfield and pop up with a few goals - if you watch a video of all the goals he's scored for arsenal, there's one or two tap ins but the majority are screamers or brilliant runs. Roughly a goal every 5 games when deployed out of position seems a good return for a midfielder as well.

Just noticed my phone had auto 'corrected' wing to Wong. Glad I picked up on that

I noticed he has a amazing skill for dribbling, going on incredible runs and finishing. He seems to be a great passer too with some pace. Just what we need in midfield.

Andrey Arshavin to Reading - Deal almost done

31-year-old Arshavin has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal despite an inspiring performance for Russia at the Euro 2012 group stages.

Previously being linked to Zenit St. Petersburg and Fulham, Reading look to be the leaders in this race to sign the attacking midfielder. Brian McDermott will be seeking to seal this deal after the other deals regarding his other targets appear to be falling apart.

TP Mazembe's Stopilla Sunzu has been called up to Zambia's Africa Cup of Nations squad. The competition is to be held from 19 January to 10 February and it is unlikely that McDermott and his club will buy him without being able to observe his performances. Swansea City's striker Danny Graham is also seemingly out of the question after he said he did not see any reason to leave the Liberty.

The deal between the Premier League clubs is said to be worth around £4 million, but the Gunners could try to push for £5 million. The deal is most likely to be completed in the early stages of the winter transfer window and will unite Arshavin with fellow countryman Pavel Pogrebnyak.

They've retweeted an Arsenal fan who claims that terms have been agreed.

Two very good Arsenal sources, one of which is a reporter at the Metro, says we're very close; then this chap today reckons terms are agreed. We'll see, but there's a lot of smoke around this one.

Which is the whole idea behind the account. A few Reading fans run it. They're pretty useful to follow.
