Arhsavin, if he comes here, would be the best player ever to play for Reading.

Whether he still has the desire to produce it is very open to question.

Dare to dream people. Love how everyone starts their post with ' if' or ' he is not coming but'. I would love it to happen, and seems to be in the pipeline. Thinking you will jinx it on a forum is laughable

Also i would play 451, with Jem and Guthrie holding midfield and Arshavin in the hole

There's a difference between having the innate talent and applying yourself in a match situation.

I'd love to have him here in terms of ability but I'm not sure he's the person you'd ideally want in a relegation situation. Match fitness an issue and desire, I'm not convinced.

His fitness is a worry, to quote a Gooner mate, "He has no pace or willingness to track back. His weight is alarming for someone so short. He is not well built, only well fed."

No doubt he has the talent, but is he still in a position to apply himself, especially in a team lack in finesse but high in fitness?

Alternatively, one could argue he'll provide the guile while the rest of the team provide the graft.

Guess we should wait and see.

I remember seeing him run his balls off for Russia in the summer.

Thomas Brolin Mk II. Not someone you'd want in the trenches with you in a relegation battle.

He's always worked hard for his national side, no doubt about that. But his club form has not been as encouraging for a couple of years now.

Yhe. But he needs an arm around him, and some proper responsbility. Used as a bit part player at Arsenal

If we are going to take a very expensive punt on Arshavin you would expect us to play him in his preferred 'number 10' position.

This means we will line up 4-4-1-1

Decent article here http://www.sabotagetimes.com/football/football-sport/played-in-his-correct-position-arshavin-proves-he-can-still-be-arsenals-creative-spark/

Maybe Thomas Brolin can still do a job?

Praying this happens. If we set up like we did yesterday and have Arshavin behind Pog, we would probably get a good run together

Bandini He'll link up nicely with Robbie Fowler and Ruel Fox.

Some Russian journalist on twitter is saying that he's turned down £65k a week from us as he wants parity with Pog....

Make of that what you will....
