cmonurz
Royal Rother Yes, his eyes were definitely on the ball....

Yes, funny that at the moment of collision, as he realises he is going to hit Begovic, he is looking at Begovic.

The ball came over his head, and he was focused on it.

But you carry on your agenda.

The only point on my Suarez agenda is that I'm rather looking forward to him getting some of his own treatment. Put it this way, hearing him scream like a stuck pig as his broken leg flops around (as he has so nearly done to so many players) will not cause me any distress.

Rest assured - it's going to happen one day.

Getting back to the old RR, good enough to admit when you're not being objective.

Presumably you felt the same about Phil Parkinson.

I think Suarez is far less worse than people make out.

I think other players are worse than he is, it's just his reputation from his bad publicity has meant that everyone always thinks the worst of him.

Indeed. Whole-hearted hero? Maybe, if you're being generous. He was actually an intimidatory thug most of the time on-pitch.

Not as bad as Terry Hurlock who would not even have a career these days.

No, it's because he is a diving, cheating, fouling, racist little shit.

There's no getting away from the fact that he's a nasty, cynical player and he struggles to hold his Latin American temperament in check. He had a lot of previous before heading to this country, the major talking point being his biting of Ottman Bakkal. Clearly he has a problem with it as he was banned in Uruguay at the age of 15 for headbutting a referee and all too often in Holland he was on the receiving end of yellow cards. His stock over there, where Ajax fans love him in the way Liverpool fans do and Dutch opposition fans hate him in the way English opposition fans hate him, is the same here.

I usually like to give players the benefit of the doubt but the sheer amount of times Suarez goes in l8 catching the other player can't be a coincidence

You seem to also lack any objectivity, but on the other side of the argument. If you watch it, Suarez has a little glance at the keeper before he catches him. As Soggy says, he's done this too many times for it to be a coincidence.

Perhaps I do. In this case though, if a Reading player pulled out of going for that ball, he'd get a going over. Suarez is a competitive player, and hadnt given up on the ball. He had been guilty of some nasty challenges (I've only just seen the gifs on the prior pages fwiw) but this isn't one of them imho.

And I don't recall many Reading fans hoping to see Phil Patkibson in a heap on the floor with his leg hanging off.

Don't think he ever played for Reading.

I think the reason they like him is (despite all the other nonsense)he is probably the most exciting player to watch in our Premier League.

Did the lovely Liverpool chaps who caused Shelvey to take down his Twitter account give similar abuse to the scum that is Suarez I wonder?

If exciting means nutmegging a central defender only to spaff the subsequent glorious chance high and wide then fine. He's skilful, very skilful, but the most exciting player to watch in the Premier League? Not a chance. Half of the Manchester City side would walk into that category ahead of Suarez for a start...
