You are right. Our way is to bring in abandoned and neglected players and give them a better quality of life. If you want to help, all it costs is £525 a year to keep these poor unloved footballers in a good home.

So, Debuchy looks like he's finally on his way to Newcastle. If we were to still be interested in another right-back, then I wonder if we'll renew our interest in Simpson who was our first choice last summer..

A new contract for Cummings and the signing of Gunter more than likely means no.

On the subject of Simpson, I think Gunter and Cummings will both be ok in that department. I'd much rather see us strengthen at leftback and for the umpteenth time I'll say this, I hope we look to get Martin Olsson from Blackburn.

Shorey may also be off as he only signed for a year didn't he? Although I really hope not.

Shorey will get a new deal. He wont get another PL contract unless it's here as back-up next season, so he'll be ideal in the Championship.

Why would we? Gunter is playing well and is improving every game. And we have Cummings for back up. We have bigger priorities at the moment

Can't really understand why professional footballers are out at 0400 in the morning at a takeaway, you are almost asking for trouble already before you factor in that Simpson was supposedly bladdered giving it the 'Don't you know who I am?' routine. Reminds me almost of Barton when he got into the altercation at McDonalds (wasn't he at Newcastle then?). We steered well clear of this idiot.
