Mr Angry Had to laugh at the Official LFC Twitter feed saying that Rodgers missed the game through having Gonorrhoea, then changing it a few minutes later to Diarrhoea!!

:D

Fake twitter feeds are like that.

Anfield Kopite The difference between Rogers and Hodgson is the style of play. Hodgson was constantly telling Reina and Carragher to hoof it. He was also embarrasing in interviews. We lost 2 - 0 against Everton and we were atrocious but Hodgson said we played really well. Same after a draw with Napoli. I expected a similar league position to last season (8th) and still do. The fans seem to like him and are backing him.

I suspect the real difference is that the spectre of King Kenny is no longer lingering. LFC fans really had to get that out of their system before anyone was going to be given the time needed to do a decent job* Rodgers would have got the same shite as Hodgson if he'd got the job prior to Dalgleish.

*See Also: Newcastle fans and Alan Shearer.

That was one of the things I disliked about Rodgers - after a dire perfromance he would come out and say "I thought the players were outstanding today" total bullshit

Certainly not true with me. I had an open mind when Hodgson took over but the style of play was awful and him claiming we played well when we were terrible quickly turned me against him. Rogers, so far, hasnt spoken such bullshit. I have an open mind with him also. He has the team trying to play passing football which is a plus for me.

Totally agree Vision about Liverpool and Newcastle, and have said much the same in the past. Both sets of fans seemed to have had romantic notions that their returning hero's would be able to wave their magic wands and put a lot of things right at their respective clubs. It seems the Liverpool fans are being a lot more realistic this time around though.

Not sure Newcastle fans are quite there yet though!

I don't think that many Reading fans are anti-Rodger, but he is quite a different character to Coppell and McDermott and so he did probably rub a few fans up the wrong way with his management training/speak style bullshit and more in your face approach. The idea that he hasn't spoken any crap at Liverpool will come as a shock to a lot of Reading fans as he did more than his fair share of that whlist here.

The cringefest that was the 'documentary' being Liverpool certainly had everyone laughing (so bad it was quite funny) if they were not too bored to keep it switched on. However it was the teams American owners that had made the deal to film it long before Rogers took over. Some ill informed people attempted to blame him for allowing cameras into the dressing room but he had no choice because filming started last season while he was still at Swansea. I predicted us to finish about 8th again this season, though i thought we would be bottom half until later in the season. We are a bit Jekylol and Hyde at the minute but i think he is doing ok really.

Interesting article that looks at the stats behind Liverpool’s performances this season, and which backs up to an extent Rodger’s confidence in the system. Also explains perhaps why the fans are backing Rodgers in general in spite of the results – they are in the main watching decent football.

Shots on goal - 1st
Shots on target - 6th
Shots allowed - 5th
Successful dribbles - 2nd
Possession - 4th
Successful tackles - 4th

The article points out that the final stat is particularly impressive given they are a high possession team and so have fewer opportunities to tackle.

No doubt they need to get more effective in possession, and the team's ability to have a total off day, particularly in defence, means they are inconsistent, but Rodgers' approach certainly seems to be paying off, footballing-wise anyway.

The only stat that matters is where you are in the league. It's not like a Liverpool fan to claim some sort of victory' from some pointless stat or claiming 'the treble' when they won 3 cups which didn't include the league or the CL. :|

Not a victory at all, the table doesn't lie, they deserve to be where they are. I posted it in the context of the recent discussions on this board about Rodgers/his playing style.

Seriously Kes, more weak shit.

Decent signing, remains a promising young player, £12m maybe a bit over-priced though.

Great business by Chelsea if the Ba transfer goes through. Sturridge just wasn't good enough for us.

Gotta agree with Kes there. Ba > Sturridge and cheaper too.

Yep, Sturridge may do well if he’s given an extended run in the team, but he strikes me as being far too selfish. Ba should score plenty of goals for Chelsea.

We claimed a treble which it was. Nobody claimed the treble. Although we did actually win a treble one time that did include the league and European cup. Anyway, its 12 years ago and nobody gives a toss......... except you

Sturridge for £12m, Ba available for £7m.

Suppose Rodgers must have taken advantage of his connections at Chelsea to pull off such a steal.

Liverpool have never won THE treble though. League Cup doesn't count. Got to be League, European Cup and FA Cup.
