He's been involved in the last 9 games in a row for Tottenham. The Spurs fans I know think he was a steal and are glad to have him.

There is no benefit to Tottenham letting him out on loan. No matter how much we want it, or how much we stamp our feet, as things stand Gylfi Sigurdsson will not be coming to Reading. Huddlestone however is far more possible.

I cannot handle another transfer window thinking Siggy might come back. Please drop it now!

Reading want to sign Tottenham’s Tom Huddlestone on loan as they look to break the tradition by escaping relegation after being bottom at Christmas.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas will let Huddlestone leave in January, with Fulham’s former Spurs boss Martin Jol also a Huddlestone fan.

The England international came to close to joining Stoke on loan in August but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Hopefully McDermott's good relationship with AVB will swing it in our favour. Huddlestone has proven in the past that he can do a decent holding mid role - andI reckon he can do a better job than the current crop of holding up (and ultimately keeping) the ball.

considering mcd said Carrico would be looking to play in midfield, you reckon we'll still go for huddlestone?

Portuguese journalist on BBC Berks reckons Carrico isn't great in midfield and is far suited to playing at the back....hope we still go for Huddlestone

Huddlestone wouldn't join Reading on a permanent deal ..he wants Prem football ...our best chance of getting him would have been on a loan deal ...he will get snapped up by a club that will be in Prem next season...even if that's a club like Cardiff ..

Think our chances of getting him have receded now as Spurs want him off permanantly only. BBC
say they want £3M for him. Doubt he will want to sign for us for obvious reasons and
As we generally hate spending more than 2 bob and a fun size mars bar on players i think that is this thread done.
