Hoop BlahNR_Royal I still don't understand why he's coming to us.
Why aren't any bigger clubs interested, especially at that price when he was so sought after in the past? Why is he even leaving Sporting CP? This could be a brilliant signing.
Just because they've looked at him in the past doesn't mean they've gone as far as wanting him then, let alone now.
Hopefully he can make the adjustment to the Premier League quickly and successfully. The last player we signed from Portugal was Cisse wasn't it? He struggled to cope with the pace and intensity in training let alone matches.
Odd one really as this isn't the experienced Premier League signing that McDermott has talked about.

This is a completely different signing as cisse wasn't an established player when he signed. I really don't believe this is Cisse mkII as this lad has been brought through an academy which plays a very skilled type of football.
As the video above will show you, it's not he pace of the prem that players usually need to adjust to. imo the Portuguese game is played at an equal, if not greater pace. You do need to be physically stronger at winning he ball in the prem. the perfect example of this was Cristano Ronaldo - another Sporting academy product.
Although lack of game time this season, an extremely good bit of business. Very pleased with this.
Welcome Daniel!
