Biscuit_Boy Johnny Brooks also played for both clubs, in the fifties. He was the first Reading born player ever to represent the full England team. Also, you mention the first cup meeting in 1901 which ended 1-1. Near the end of the match a Reading shot was punched out from underneath the crossbar by a Spurs defender, but the ref didn't spot it. So Reading were in fact cheated, as we would clearly have won the cup that year. It still hurts.

The Royals are going to have to try to suppress Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon, Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe and, defensively, I don't think they are capable of doing that.
The key for Spurs is to keep Bale and Lennon fit as there is no other team in the league who has their pace and width.

THFC6061Fox TalbotThe Cube If there was a game in April 1896 it certainly wasn't played at Elm Park.
and there was no official connection between H&P and RFC.
and 'the first non Football league club to win the FA Cup' needs re-phrasing or he'll get Oxford University among others on his back.
and he misses out the funny bit where we got elected to the Southern League and they didn't in 1894.
Yes, I was out by a couple of months on Coley Park - the first Southern League game was at Elm Park.
No Football League existed before 1888-89, so by default every club who won the Fa Cup from 1872 to 1888 was a non-League club.
