wolsey Sturridge for £12m, Ba available for £7m.

Suppose Rodgers must have taken advantage of his connections at Chelsea to pull off such a steal.

You always pay a premium for English players, and he's also 4 or 5 years younger than Ba as well. That should mean that he's worth a bit more. Ba also has the question mark over his knee, although his record of staying fit the last season or so should've put that to rest I guess.

Sturridge is over priced, but he has consistently scored Premier League goals when played, so it's not massively so.

Ba could be a steal at £7m though.

No Fixed Abode

No Fixed Abode The only stat that matters is where you are in the league. It's not like a Liverpool fan to claim some sort of victory' from some pointless stat or claiming 'the treble' when they won 3 cups which didn't include the league or the CL. :|

We claimed a treble which it was. Nobody claimed the treble. Although we did actually win a treble one time that did include the league and European cup. Anyway, its 12 years ago and nobody gives a toss......... except you

Liverpool have never won THE treble though. League Cup doesn't count. Got to be League, European Cup and FA Cup.

Says who ? Since when did you become the rulemaker. On 2 occasions LFC won three trophys. 3 makes a treble. Come back when Chelolsea have

In fact Kes, here is a rule for you. You cant claim to support the European Champions unless you actually went to all the games

But he also has an attitude that stinks more than a consignment of Camembert left in an Ethiopian Greenhouse for the summer.

(In his mind) he was too good/not understood/not used properly by City, he was too good/not understood/not used properly by Chelsea...

Why will he change at Liverpool?

(Probably in my top 5 most disliked players atm)

There is no definitive 'The Treble' though.

It doesn't really matter, does it, this is more about Kes' obsession with Liverpool.

You are so right. Fancy arguing that a set of supporters are wrong to say they won a/the treble when said set of supporters dont really care cos it was years ago. What an obbsessed cockhead

He was how old at the time? What had he achieved (apart from showing a decent amount of promise)? How much was he asking for?

As a teenager in 2009, having started three games that season, he rejected £45k a week (having demanded £75k)

I understand were you're coming from Wolsey but just because the media say a player has knocked back an offer of x amount per week doesnt mean its true. They do tell lies and dont let the truth get in the way of a story.

And in whose mind was he worth £75k? Not as if it was the going price for a promising young player (but I suppose if Stephen Ireland was thought to be worth that sort of money.....)

Presumably Chelsea thought he was worth significantly more than City were willin to pay him, hence his moved.

I agree his attitude looks like one of the things he needs to sort out in order to fulfil his potential, but if he's playing on a more regular basis and with a manager who backs him then perhaps that will happen.

Hope so H.B. i know a couple of Bolton fans who say his attitude seemed to be very good when he got a run of games there. I am a tad concerned though. Just have to wait and see.

Not unusual-Ashley Cole did the same.
Not sure about Sturridge-the fans loved him at City until he decided he was worth more than he got paid.
Most successful strikers are quite selfish and he looks to be no different.

5 wins from our last 7 in the league. Up to 8th. Think Rogers and the team are doing ok at the minute.
