Alexander Litvinenko That means someone who has pace and strength who can win the ball and hold things up until the midfield arrive.

Nobody in the world possesses that sort of pace and strength.

The Pog isn't as mobile / agile as he needs to be to play a lone role, whilst Roberts seems to be injured more often than not this season.

That said why would Graham come here rather than mid table Norwich, well guess that would be multi year contract and decent wages on top of what Norwich can offer - or perhaps he doesnt want to move to Turnip land.

Also Pog wont be here if we go down, so a new striker that will be isn't a bad idea at this stage.

Not forgetting Hunt and Roberts are free in the summer too.

He can be the lone striker, he just needs an attacking midfielder feeding him the ball.

Errm..... an attacking midfielder or otherwise known as a 'second striker' feeding him the ball.

That tends to confirm my comment that he is a bit immobile to play up top on his own.

If he has a midfielder behind him he is up front on his own

Would be a perfect signing at this stage of the season.

Whether we go down or not £3 million for a striker of his quality is a bargain and to all those asking why would he come to us when he could go to Norwich, Not exactly guaranteed a striking role with Holt leading the line with Morrison.

We should do everything we can to make this deal happen as it will be a good one regardless of what happens to us.

Agree with Elm Park Pasty. Our problem is in keeping the ball and creating chances. Our strikers have done fairly well with the small number of opportunities created for them. We need players who like to keep the ball and know how to pass. We have too many that panic when they receive it.

If we are getting in Graham then someone has to be on their way out. Hunt, ALF, Pog, Roberts too many with Graham. This I think is an unlikely deal as we need players in other areas ie out wide and in the cm.

Alexander Litvinenko What we need is a striker who is quite happy and quite effective playing up front on his own as the 1 in our 4-3-2-1.

That means someone who has pace and strength who can win the ball and hold things up until the midfield arrive. They also need stamina to be able to do that all through the game.

Agreed.

Graham is similar in style to Long and would potentially be a very good option for playing up tops on his own.

I'd be quite happy to see him come in but, as others have said, it would surely mean the end of the line for one or two of our existing forwards.

Donkey.

If you can't get at least enough goals to keep you at a side like Swansea where the service is good, then you're not up to scratch.

I like him but he isn't really any different to what we already have. I want a striker who has pace!

As long as no-one askshim if he wants to play in the Premier League next season, then we've got a chance of signing him.

Contrasting views on this.

The bloke is a very good Premier league striker - as shown last season. He's far better than Hunt and Roberts no doubt, and is far more useful than Alf in the 4-5-1 formation we're now using.

But the reason Swansea are wanting to shift him isn't for footballing reasons. The lad's been in rehab for his drinking for most of the season - the explanation why he hasn't been in their lineup for the season. He's beginning to play for Swansea again, which suggests he might be over it, but Swansea still want rid of him..so should we be the club that gambles on him?

I personally think we should - with a loan till the summer with an option of making it permanent being the best (and relatively unrealistic) option.

Marouane Chamakh in talks to sign for West Ham, add to that Joe Cole and that is some good business by West Ham.

Perhaps they're just posting gut feelings that they can't back up and so don't need or want educating...

Well I enjoyed that comment at least.
